first cycle at 30

I am in my early 30’s, 5-7/192, 10% body fat, and have been training since I was 14. I have reached my genetic potential (or very close to it) in terms of strength and size. I bench 355, squat 460, and can deadlift around 500 (never maxed).

I first was going to do an 8-week cycle with test-cyp and deca. However, after researching the side effects of deca, I am looking at the following cycle:

wk 1-8: 500mg test cypionate
wk 1-8: 400mg equipoise

nolvadex and clomid on hand for post cycle or as needed.

Any tips, critiques, or suggestions would be welcomed. Thanks.

I know I’ll get flamed for this by some of my bros here, but for a first cycle at your bodyweight I’d suggest starting with lighter dosages, like a total of maybe 600mgs/wk.

I would also cut out the EQ at week six because it is a very long acting ester.

Btw, it’s really good to see someone who has truly peaked before hitting the juice, you’ve got great numbers, great stats, AAS are going to turn you into a monster!

I agree with Warhorse 100%…I’m a big fan of 600mg/week cycles especially for athletes. Maybe I would run 800-900 mg/week one and then 600 for the subsequent weeks. Whatever happened to trying a reasonable dose, say 600mg/week and seeing if it satisfys you? I always do this. You can always go on again, refer to the log you kept (yes you have to keep one) and change things to better suit your needs.
Of course, this realy depends on what your goal is.
I also agree that it’s great to see someone get far naturally before crossing over. I was 27 when I first experimented. I’ve done some weeks at as high as 1300mg but found it wasn’t best for my goals. I now only run 1g AT THE MOST the first week and 700-400mg/week thereafter. But hey that’s just me.

Thanks for your input guys. I did quite a bit of research on steroid profiles with side effects and consequences. Trying to be as rational as possible with this cycle, knowing that as with any chemical, there can be risk.

I will back my total mg’s down to 600-800. Being the first cycle and having lifted intensely for over half my life, I am excited about seeing the results. I feel that this combonation and time period is moderate and cautious (with the smaller mg’s).

I think you’ll find test at 750mgs to be alot better than 500mgs. I have always believed that 750mgs is the mininum amount of test I would recommend. Others will disagree, but if you are going to use test why not use it at a dose where you are virtually guaranteed to make good gains. 300-600mgs of equipoise seems sufficient in my view for a first timer. Later you can play with these figures once you have more experience with the use of anabolics and its affects on your body. Everyone starts with a certain dosage and then eventually adjust to their bodies needs. Everyone is different, therefore what works for me might not necessarily work for you, but generally the dosages mentioned above will get you the results you want without anything major happening. Have nolvadex handy and take 10-20mgs per day. From this point on always use an anti-estrogen when doing a cycle. As we get older we can’t afford anything to go wrong. Play it safe have a sound diet.
