Loose skin takes a long time of being lean to tighten if it tightens all the way at all. I was in the same boat as you and it took about two years to get it under control.
Yeah, not expecting it to happen 100% for first show. Something I have to live with. I consider it battle scars tbh. A reminder of why I’ll never go back to that lifestyle.
I’m tightening up more every week, and we’ve obviously yet to pull water either, so hoping by the time we get everything done, add some carbs in at the end, maybe we fill out just enough for it to be minimal up there. If not, I have to do my best to position myself with posing to limit it being a factor. Is what it is. Control what you can control.
How has it been going the last few weeks?
Morning brother.
It’s going. Feeling pretty good. Lower half tightening up considerably.
Macro (Gym Days) -
235 P
50 C
25 - 30 F
Macro (Non-Gym Days) -
255 P
50 C
30 - 35 F
Water Cut (Phase III) -
Down from 22 Cups (Peak) to 17.5 Cups
Move to 16 Cups on Thursday
Next week is the big dry out.
Last leg day was yesterday. Smashed tf out of them.
Floating 169 - 170 on average right now. Not sure if we’ll make lightweight. Going to depend on how much water comes off when we dip, and how this last 12 days goes.
But, I’m getting excited (albeit nervous and anxious). Routine is done, just needs tweaking and running through over these upcoming days.
Peak week starts Saturday. Pics from this am (fasted).
And then there were 5 Days…
-8 Cups water today (8 total from 16).
Carbs down to 45 G.
Holding here until/if coach changes anything.
The real dry out begins.
Can’t believe it’s almost here. Excited, anxious, nervous, confident, but really just ready to take it all in and learn from those that have been there before. Going to do my best to present what I have worked hard for. We only get one debut!
167.5 lb weigh-in
Good luck, have fun, and learn what you can for next time!
My On Stage Routine (Word Up - Korn)
FYI - The shout out is to my cousin (and inspiration) in the sport who passed during my Prep (around Week 14 - 15). Dedicated the entire show to him/in his memory.
Offseason plan incoming this week.
Next show, 2026.
Hybrid Bodybuilding/Powerlifting approach (Fall 2024 - Spring 2025), Meet with USPA (and my son) Summer 2025, Prep Fall/Winter 2025, Show Spring/Summer 2026.
Haven’t really followed your log but read the first couple posts then scroll down to see where you’re at now.
You’ve gotten way leaner and committed to getting on stage then actually did it, congrats man, good shit!
Appreciate it! I did work hard as hell for it. Know I wasn’t where I needed to be, but seeing as I lost 68 lbs over 10 months to stand out there and give it my best, I’m pretty proud of the body of work. Next go, we come in an even better package.
Offseason I’ll be staying under 180 lbs, and we will be doing a bulk to 190 lbs before we cut again for next show. But, that won’t be until mid to late 2025. Focus right now is heavier loads, strength and adding more mature muscle.
