Finding Trendy Clothes That Fit

I’m 5’9, 195 and my problem isn’t finding clothes that fit, but finding clothes that fit well. XL shirts fit terrific in the chest/shoulders/arms area, but then I’m swimming in the stomach area. I buy mostly large shirts because they fit better in the stomach area, although they’re a bit snug in the arms/chest/shoulder area.

The best thing I’ve found is to break down and shop at American Eagle, Abercrombie, and stores like that. They’re made for non-fat people and have decent Athletic cuts. I feel stupid because even at 28 I’m the old guy in the store, but hey, if it fits and looks good, screw it. Just avoid the stupid shirts with words all over them and you’ll be fine.

Tailor, find one fucktard.

hahahahaha!

ALL of those stores have clothes designed for really small/slender people. I dont think those stores even have XXL+ sizes which is what you would need to wear to not have skin tight shirts.

I think that skin tight shirts are a terrible look and it makes you look like you’re trying to hard to show that you workout. Thats just my opinion though

You have got to be kidding me, if you could find clothes that actually fit you at the above-mentioned stores, this thread is totally unnecessary.

LOL, we get banana republic gift cards at work every year.

I just give them to my wife. I’m not fitting in any of that shit.

Alexc owned me and he wasn’t even trying. Damn.

Were in the clothing industry is the love for people with big lats ? It’s painfull to go into a store, see a cute lady comming to greet you, you ask her for a L shirt and the thing won’t budge, you ask for a XL and it’s still tight. Then you awkardly ask for a bigger one and they don’t have it. FUCK!

Worser than that, is buying new clothing and finding out 2 weeks later they won’t fit anymore.

And then you try to reach down for your wallet to pay for the clothes, but you can’t because your lats are so huge.

What wallet ? It won’t fit in your pockets because your legs are also big and you also find no pants to use, so you have to wear a Scottish kilt, and they have no pockets…

And it was a joke, the big lats post, before anyone think I was being serious.

Hi,

After several attempts to find some nice shirts, T-shirts of polo’s I reached a point of dispair. Nothing fits???

I’m not even that big, about 1m83 (about 6foot) and 105kg (232pounds). What are those designers thinking? I’ve tried a XXL Armani t-shirt and I didn’t even try to get in that…

Sure the American sizes are better, but the sizes I fit in are for larger (fat) people, so it’s not that charming at other spots on my body.

Hilfiger and Ralph L. have those nice larger sizes with custom fits that seem to be made for the sporty muscular types, but that’s all i’ve found.

Are you also sick and tired of those design clothing made for skinny people??
183cm and 105kg is pretty big I think. Maybe you’re from Scandinavia.

I’m 183cm too, 110kg and even tough I’ve got a gut to work off I can barely get XL stuff over my shoulders let alone worry about it being tight on the lower torso.
We also live in Asia haha - none of the clothes here fit. I buy XL usually here.

I’ve bought some casual clothes from the USA and Australia and found that I incorrectly bought XXL (thought I was a smart ass and thought I’ll buy bigger just in case). The t-shirts are swimming on me now :frowning:

OP, Armani is a fashion label for skinny people, it doesn’t work on us. Tommy and Ralph too.

Something similar happened to a shirt a friend of mine brought back from Vietnam, it was good on the first day, when I wore it again I needed help taking it off. I can’t imagine it shrunk if at all, had to ask my wife for help.

I don’t want to hear it until you’re 5’7 and 180.

Apparently everyone who’s 5’7 is supposed to have a 30" chest, and a neck under 17 1/2.
5’8" 190…shirts looks weird (the neck is ok but the rest is a tent, even the slim fit) and no 30" pant inseams in sight

Levi’s slim cut jeans too. 514’s with no spandex 1-2 sizes too big in the waist. Youre welcome.
I’ve been wanting to get some classic looking Levis lately… These are the ones to get? The 514’s?
Theyre not baggy by any means but super dark ones look good with a button down shirt and the right pair of shoes.

Super Co-sign on this. Mark Ecko-Lacrose will sell sizes you can fit without flaring out as the shirt goes down. Nice taper so you don’t look like your wearing a stretched out shirt.

If you have a problem finding his stuff he has a web site or go to DR. Jays.com Ignore all the new wave fashion stuff you will be able to have it for more than a year. Keep it simple.

Agreed. I’m wearing a polo shirt that I bought at Target right now and if I can fit in a XXL at that store, where the hell is the OP shopping at?
I live in Europe with all those nasty Italian sizes. I guess they’re used to larger sizes in America, don’t you think?

Suits, shirts, just have them made. I am a 50 jacket and a 33 waist. Ain’t gonna happen off the rack.

Nat Nast Shirts are great

The “pyscho bunny” line of polo shirts can fit if you chose well, they come in staggered sizes and are not so damn long or fat at the belly

some Napoli or cannili shirts will work if you have them tailored at the waist.

Nordstroms has reasonable options.

I can’t get my arms in Burbury or anything English.
Thanks! I’ll look into that!

And I’ve found here in Taiwan that it depends where a shirt is made. An XL Nike polo from Taiwan is small, but if it’s made in Vietnam L is big enough. Weird!

I dont know why they design shirts that are tailored toward boxy figures. Shopping for shirts are easy though if you know where to look. Im really into Crooks and Castles now and their fits are awesome. They are not big at all but their not tight either. Their is abit room for the arms and snugs over my waist. Its awesome. The hardest part for shopping to me is the jeans. Its impossible to find a good, reasonably priced jeans for me. H&M sells great jeans but there is not a store in the South. The closes I have found is Zara and I still have to get the new jeans I bought tailored.
