Jeremy Clarkson does not deserve that job.

Oh the hate.

Haha, what, you don’t like Clarkson?

That really would be an incredible job to have.

I like him - I just don’t like he has the job and not me, ha!
He should be the one on the couch not us, right?
So unfair…

…I didn’t know you had Top Gear in US television…
It’s on the BBC America channel. Usually a few times a week. If it’s not on, I usually find myself watching clips online. Great show.

New pictures

.

.

Hellfrost those pictures are much better.

And yeah, that is no Porsche.

I think I have seen it a few times where I live ( the Arabic oil magnates are in my neighborhood ) and if it is the same one is quite striking live.

I doubt it, it won’t be out until 2010 I believe.

My mistake, then.
It is definitely Ferrari and it looks remarkably similar.

aerodynamics being aerodynamics…not to many ways you can achieve a goal without some similarities. And i’ll take the daytona spyder, thank you.

I’d rather have an Aston or a Maserati. Hell, even a Porsche.

Even the new Audi R8 Spyder is gorgeous.

Ferraris aren’t ugly (for the most part) but the interiors and overall designs aren’t the sexiest around.

Agreed, Aston is great. But if I were to truely have a choice, I’d take a Koenigsegg CCXR
I just saw this thread and looked up the R8 convertible, it’s the ugliest car I’ve ever seen in my life. It’s like a fat chick with floppy knockers, better with the top on.

Hellfrost,

According to this UK website two 458s have been spied:

Maybe some of the morbidly rich people who own mansions in central London were taking it for a test drive.
Maybe it was Michael Schumacher ( I didn’t know he had helped design it ).

Either way, I think ‘in the metal’ ( in the flesh ) it will look a lot more impressive than the pictures. I saw another Bugatti Veyron ( I recognized it this time ) and it looks WAY MORE IMPRESSIVE than on tv or pictures.
It has an amazing presence on the road.

These cars are feats of engineering. They cost millions of dollars in terms of research, planning, design and production.
Can someone explain exactly how a driver (Michael Schumacher) designed a car?
Did he pick the color or say “i want it to go fast”?

" A two-seater berlinetta, the Ferrari 458 Italia, as is now traditional for all Ferrariâ??s road-going cars, benefits hugely from the companyâ??s Formula 1 experience.

This is particularly evident in the speed and precision with which the car responds to driver inputs and in the attention focused on reducing internal friction in the engine for lower fuel consumption than the F430, despite the fact that both overall displacement and power have increased.

However, Ferrariâ??s track experience makes its presence felt in the 458 Italia not only in terms of pure technological transfer but also on a more emotional level, because of the strong emphasis on creating an almost symbiotic relationship between driver and car.

The 458 Italia features an innovative driving environment with a new kind of steering wheel and dashboard that is the direct result of racing practice. Once again input from Michael Schumacher - who was involved from the very start of the 458 Italia project - played an invaluable part."

IMHO Ducati used to make the sexiest bikes. However that whole picture changed when Yamaha signed Valentino Rossi. The '04 R1 has an under tail exhaust now, however the M1 is beyond sexy. Wait until you can hear and feel the exhaust, while at idle none the less. Imagine the engine screaming as it flys by, reaching over 200 mph.

The true peak numbers are not known, however the rev ceiling is thought to be around 18,000 revs and weighs around 326 lbs. Thats dancing around a 1 hp/1.5 lbs ratio!! No wonder they are worth over a million dollars, being totally a unique and a custom built bike. Sexier IMO : p
