I recently started TRT around a month ago due to low T levels and ongoing symptoms of fatigue, erectile dysfunction, low mood. I am on test enthanate 100mg weekly split into 2 injections alongside HCG 500iu twice weekly, no AI currently. The first two weeks I noticed no change other than improved libido then in the third week I had sudden onset of severe fatigue, anxiety such as racing heart and felt emotionally all over the place, I stopped injections for around 10 days and symptoms started to go, to make sure it was the injections and not something else I restarted again on Monday and the symptoms have come back, the fatigue and anxiety is really bad I’ve even had to be off work. I don’t want to have to stop TRT but I can’t take another Injection as I can’t risk feeling so bad and having more time off work, could it potentially be raised estrogen? I have attached baseline bloods, I had a second test done before starting TRT and oestradiol was much higher at around 129, Thanks in advance.
I’d discontinue hCG and see how you feel.
I personally feel like shit for 6-8 weeks when I start a new protocol. It’s to be expected.
You seem sensitive to estrogen, HCG increases it so drop it. Continue injecting 50mg twice weekly and retest labs in 8 weeks. Your levels are always going to be influx within 6-8 after a change in T dosage.
There are some men who get wrecked on HCG and just causes problems. TRT is trial and error, it will take months to figure out what works and what doesn’t.
Like me, your SHBG is high. You may want to take that 100mg once per week. A lot of your Test is being bound up by SHBG keeping your FT low, unless your FT comes up at least to the middle of the pack or so your gonna not be feeling so hot. Also like these guys said, you need to give it 6-8 weeks. Your body needs time to build up the Test, your FT will slowly start to come up and you will feel better but it will take some time. Hang in there dude.
Thanks guys for the replies, is HCG likely to raise estrogen more then the actual test then? I think this week I will drop the HCG and see how I feel. It may take some time to get used to the new regime, just don’t want to feel so bad I can’t get out of bed.
on another topic, when I draw up my test I draw up 0.2mls but it seems like I lose some of the liquid in the top of the needle, as once I’ve finished the injection there is still a bit left in the top of the needle which is not getting injected meaning I must not be getting the full dose do people draw up a little extra to account for this?
Correct because on HCG you’re producing estrogen within the testicles and converting FT–>E2 through the aromatase process. I always tell men with chronically low estrogen on TRT to use HCG.
@highpull
I don’t think I’ve ever seen one with a plunger like that. Pretty cool
So I had another blood test done as side effects were just getting worse on TRT. Feeling nauseous, exhausted, raised anxiety and low mood. I have attached bloods, so seems my testosterone is already over normal after only 4 weeks on TRT and also my psa is sky high, what do you guys make of those results? Should I be concerned about the Psa result?
It’s normal for PSA to spike initially, but when you beyond 250 ng/dL, once the DHT satuates the prostate, PSA should returns to normal. It is for this reason PSA is not tested again for 6-12 months because a temporary spike is expected.
It sounds like you may need to reduce the dosage, but this could just be the fluctuations creating the symptoms. Now you know why I always preach frequent injections, so the experienced is more pleasant.
You either pay for it with frequent needle pokes or symptomatology. For the record TRT doesn’t cause prostate cancer, but TRT can cause benign prostatic hyperplasia which can be treated with Cialis and finasteride, the latter you should absolutely take a pass on unless you want to risk Post Finasteride Syndrome.
Do you have any urinary or any symptoms down below?
Have you spoken to your GP or TRT provider?
Thanks for the information systemlord I appreciate it, I don’t have any urinary symptoms, I have emailed TRT provider and waiting for them to get back to me. Also as it appears my LH and FSH are now completely shutdown is it going to be difficult to restart testosterone production? I had only been on 4 weeks but I have had to discontinue injections due to the severe side effects I stopped about 5-6 days ago and now feel like crap which is to be expected if I am no longer producing testosterone, I have thought about Clomid or Nolvadex but now I’m just worried about more side effects if I take anything else.
Nope, it took me exactly 4 and a half weeks to get my HPTA back online without any PCT or medication, I let nature takes its course. I knew the moment it happened, I was feeling unusually well and it felt as if for only a day I had optimal testosterone, the next day everything waned gradually over weeks.
I was on TRT for two and a half years before stopping to address others medical problems which is mostly resolved.
Did you drop the HCG before getting this new blood work?
I just started daily injections. Insulin needles work perfect. I was running one injection per week at 200mg. Finding out that I metabolize or excrete test rather quickly on that protocol. I run no AI or HCG and feel fine. I just wanna clean up some of my numbers.
Seems to me those that are daily injectors tend to have better benefits. After all, our bodies used to produce micro doses daily. Seems like we just need to put back in what our bodies should be making.
Good luck man. I hope it gets better soon for you.
Naturally grnh, LH and FSH is pulsatile, with cypionate injections you lose this pulsatility. These daily injections create very steady levels and it not even close to the natural peaks and troughs.
You will benefit from the smaller peaks and troughs which can create side effects if the dosage is too large and you are one who is susceptible, this is the benefit of daily injections and less FT->E2 conversion even if side effects aren’t encountered.
Systemlord did you have any negative effects when stopping cold turkey? Everything I read seems to say it takes 3-6 months for baseline test levels to come back to normal which scares me as I don’t want to feel like crap with no libido for that long. I stopped HCG a week before getting blood results, daily injections do sound like a better option, Although I’m kinda thinking I rushed into TRT without really looking at other options to increase my T levels.
Are you going back to TRT route? How are your levels now?
Man this trt anxiety bug going around… Can’t wait to figure out the cause
