What kind of guy were you attracted to?
Ho ho ho.

People often ask me why I spend so much time training.

I tell them that I’m afraid to quit.

but in reality? being eaten to death by bugs. that shit keeps me up at nite.

Much respect to angry chicken for putting forward an adult response to the question.

For those whose greatest fear is harm to themselves, they are too inwardly focused; even if you don’t have kids, there must be someone, preferably more than one, other than yourself that matters so much that you would fear something bad happening to them above even yourself.

For those who fear mediocrity, there is a high probability that you are mediocre; but I guess self-deception is easy when one is so insular and egotistical.

My greatest fear is that my wife and or son die before I do.
SELFISH!!!
You fear they will die before you because of how it will hurt YOU.
Maybe you should man up and hope your wife dies first so that she doesn’t have to experience losing her husband.

OMGLOLHAHAHA!
You know, once I was arguing with someone about something related. He said that, after every action, there’s a selfish reason. I really couldn’t argue back, it felt overwhelming. And not pretty.

Anyone ever heard of Ayn Rand?

ducks and prepares for the ensuing shitstorm
Hey mane, take that shit to PWI where it belongs!
You Dutch or something? I’m afraid of them with their orange stuff and big wooden shoes and dykes.

I fear swarms of bees.

Any more than 10 flying around me is no fun, any more than that and I’m paralyzed until they go away.
I’ve been swarmed before, and it is every bit as painful and scary as you imagine.

Brush cutting through weeds and vetch, unbeknownst to me I swept a bald faced hornet cone in half. I thought that the brush cutter fuel tank had burst into flames and I was on fire.

Oh christ man that makes me sweat just thinking about it. Bet it was a hot humid day too. Fuck.

I worked at a Christmas Tree Farm in Michigan through high school and we had to trim them every summer to get them back into shape for the selling season. We used machetes. Like you, unbeknownst, I swung my machete right into a paper wasp nest down inbetween some boughs that I didn’t see.

I started getting stung and ran the opposite direction of where my buddy was working in the next row so he wouldn’t get nailed.

Ever since then I dont’ do well with swarms.

Turned out my buddy was alergic to bees/wasps stings and might have died had I ran his direction. Stupid luck.

I fear falling, not heights per se, but falling.

I can ride in a chair lift, but skiing is brutal for me. It’s like a 6 hour adrenaline dump. I hate ladders, cherry pickers, scaffolding, any tall structures that seems less-than-permanent and could collapse under me.

I own 2 motorcycles and fight to get on them every time. I’m scared shitless of going down while riding. There’s something about the idea of going down and not being able to get my hands out in front of me to break my fall that’s petrifying.
Bud, do not get a job working in a hospital lol. I started a new job last fall working in a hospital and fuck me but it’s got me spooked. I haven’t had the cash to fix my bike the last couple years but now I’m having doubts I’ll ever ride on the street again. I might just throw it in the back of a pick-up and take it to the 1/4 mile track couple times a summer.

I love to ride flat out when the traffic is light but all the patients I talk to were going relativly slow compared to 240kph, two this week actually. I’ve never really feared going high speed in the right conditions, now I fear going slow.

Awesome Avi btw.

I once knew a girl who had an irrational fear of fruit. (Honestly)

It was hard to take seriously, but it was legit.
Wow. Was there any particular fruit that elicited more terror in her than others?

Spiders. I’m ok if its over there - but as soon as that bastard gets near me…
Also walking through a spider web - man I do the worst impromptue form of dance!
We get these big yellow suckers that string webs about head height - and then sit smack in the middle like its a dare. Thats what bug spay and a lighter are made for.

actually had a bit of a think and came back to this
Spiders is about me, what I have a real fear about is the future. About mankind getting bogged down in all this enviromentalism and recycling crap. We need to get off this ball of rock and set up habitats elsewhere. Then we at the least have insurance if another dinosaur-killer chances by.

All these worries about celebrity, politics, having a good body, being healthy, making the right choices for our children - all means didley-squat if in say 2generations there aren’t anymore people to remember what we did or thought.
Maybe I read too much scifi, but all of our eggs are in the one basket…

Your avi says you’re from Australia aren’t the spiders there really dangerous?
lol
Seems logical to be afraid of them.
