FDA is Trying To Ban Compounded TRT

yeah and it will go back down once you run out.

Well yeah. Treatment for TRT is for life.

Yes, But we are talking about in the hypothetical event of TRT being banned by the FDA. If someone has clomid on hand in that situation, they could come off of TRT, but they most likely will never reach a pre hypogonadal levels

TRT is not being banned. Compounding it by pharmacies is what theyre considering. You would still be able to get it from big pharma, just a higher cost. Same thing happened with HCG. Amazing how this went from compounded to all of it.

I highly doubt Defy would send prescriptions to local pharmacies

I dont use Defy so I dont get your statement. If Defy uses big Pharma Hormones, then thatā€™s what they will continue to use. If their patients receive compounded hormones from a pharmacy, then they will have to switch to the more expensive versions. The thread is all about banning pharmacies from producing the affordable stuff. So how
is TRT being banned when you can still have it, just a higher premium? Your original post has all of this info.

I take it youā€™re an avid bjj practitioner!

Former. Havent trained in quite a while.

What gave it away?

For many people HRT clinics only work with compounding pharmacies. they are the most understanding when it comes to HRT protocols, dosing, etcā€¦

It is incredibly difficult for most people to find a good endocrinologist who will prescribe them a decent trt protocol. if compounding pharmacies cant produce hormones anymore. many HRT clinics will go away.

Before I was with defy I had to look everywhere in the bay to get TRT. it was next to impossible. U had a single digit free T and E2 reading and doctors didnt want to prescribe me anything. finally Found a doctor in Sf who prescribed me a 2 dose vial of Test E (200mg total) and I couldnā€™t refill the prescription for a month

I understand how these clinics work. Im not confused about that. My point is that TRT is not going to be banned. The T mills may very well go away, but those businesses that use Pharma grade stuff will remain. I understand the need for compounded medicines. I use them. My point is that TRT is not being banned as some continue to believe. It will be decreased and on some levels many will suffer, due to the cost. Those clinics with a good foundation and access to the Pharma stuff will continue and their patients wont miss a beat. I think were talking about the same thing, except I havent lost my focus on what the problem is. Pharmacy Compounded hormones being banned. Other folks are posting as if TRT itself is being banned.

They charge $35 to write you a script versus filling it themselves compounded. At least it used to be that way.

my clinic (not Defy) does this. I requested to get my Rx sent to CVS and my insurance covers it. Funny enough cash pay each month was $21 and with ins itā€™s $11, so not much difference. Clinic already pays for all my labs and AI (which I rarely take).

Anyway, my point is many clinics will start to partner with local docs in each state and have them send the Rx. theyā€™ll probably have to charge more for this tho, since their entire business model is based on selling meds they buy for $20 (lets say) and sell to you for $50
