Just wondered what your thoughts were guys on your favourite pre and post training whole foods/meals.
We all know the benefits of supplements, but if these were not available what would you be going for and why.
Just thought I would start the debate rather than it being about which is the best supplement.
1/2 large hawain pizza pwo
pre-workout if I have time (generally don’t in which case I’d have a Finibar): 1/4 cup cream of rice, 1 cup of water, 2 scoops chocolate MD, 1-2 tbsp almond butter
post-workout: 12 oz grass-fed beef (85%), 1 cup of rice, soyaki sauce
Sushi and Sushi
Pre-WO: Coffee and BCAAs
Post-WO: Ice Cream
SImple:
Pre-workout: protein, starch, veggies
Mid- and post-workout: Surge (LOVE this stuff!)
Post workout: protein, starch, veggies
Pre:
Coffee, scoop of whey, tbsp of VCO
PWO:
Scoop of whey, creatine, banana
Pre workout- 1.5 cups of brown rice, 12 oz chicken breast, 8 oz broccoli,10 oz orange juice
Post workout- 1 cup brown rice, 12 oz steak, 8 oz broccoli, 16 oz water
I throw my protein powder in with my water post workout with my glutamine and creatine
My favorites are…
preWO - 30g whey isolate, 1/4c cream of rice (with just a little flavored protein powder mixed in at the end for taste), 1T almond butter
postWO - cereal (Rice Krispies is good), whey/casein/milk protein powder (flavor varies with type of cereal used)
Grape cranberry juice (80 grams of carbs) + 60 grams of whey isolate starting as I walk into gym
Chicken parm family meal (1,000 cals, 48 grams protein) hour or so later
