My first leather jacket, T2 style biker jacket I got for Christmas in 1990, is retired but for the longest time it was my armor, it’s had blood, mine as well as others, sweat and tears on it, and it saved me from a deeper knife wound than the one I actually received when I got stabbed at venus de milo in 95

Chokes me up, stuff like this.
My grandfather was in a labor camp for a few years. He had to walk home to Holland in '44. Took almost two weeks. He barely had food and water. Could have killed him. His eyes always teared up when he mentioned surviving that place.
It’s wonderful you have this commemoration of your grandfather, Jewbacca.
As for myself. I got rid of all my possessions after my divorce as well but one thing still is very dear to me and that’s my hard-drive from my old computer. It has thousands of pictures on it, hundreds of ebooks on bodybuilding, fitness and nutrition and thousands or articles I’ve saved over the last 16 years. Additionally it has about 250 gb of comics (every Superman, Hulk and Batman etc etc).
At my ex’s place I still have hundreds of action figures but I’m afraid I have to let those go. Probably not going to get those back.
I care very little for stuff anymore.
I kind of hate the things as much as I enjoy them:
-I like my computer for the many needs it meets. I hate it for my dependency on it to get work done and wasting time. At several points in my life I’ve lived without a comp, phone, or internet, and can’t say I ever missed em.
-I like my records and comic book collections, but they’re a bitch to move and store, and I’m not sure it’s worth it. Either way, they’re due for some thinning out.
-I like my panasonic sport (bicycle) because it keeps me mobile, but I hate it for all the work it needs and I can’t afford to fix.
Other than that, I have some pictures of some art I did when I did such things, a sketchbook of old stuff and friends’ old stuff, and an old computer that has some more art stuff and some music when I did such things. Lastly, I’ve manage to hold on to an old cellphone that still has a few of the texts on it from when my fiance and I were falling for eachother.
My family’s house was flooded when I was very young, so I don’t have a lot of keepsakes or anything.

Some moving and touching stories here!
I pondered for far too long about what would make me upset if I were to lose/misplace it. I really could not think of anything. I’ve had things given to me that perhaps should be sentimental but are not.
It’s slightly bothersome that I don’t have anything of sentimental value.[/quote]

Hey, it’s 2014. If you and Doc like to wear panties, it’s totally fine by me. Nobody here has said a word, and that makes me feel really proud.
Judgement free zone right here.
I’d recommend something with more coverage in the seat so they don’t ride up when you’re doing squats. Some granny panties will keep you from giving people the “plumber treatment” when you’re doing DL’s. They aren’t for everyone, but they should be. And they will keep your support hose from getting in a bunch.
Your welcome.

No granny panties for me, thank you very much.
If you look closely, you can see the watch I’m wearing is the same one I posted earlier in the thread.

Speechless. WOW. That is super SEXY. Way to bring it, Doc. All that ivory skin peeking out of those thigh highs. Belongs in the belfie thread for sure.

Don’t care… Not even that pic can ruin how hot thigh highs are.
Bushnell 10x42 binoculars
Spetznas water bottle / mess kit

Sven Saw retractable saw

Honestly, I’m fond of most of the things I’ve bought. Especially the things I’ve modified or built myself.
A few things that stand out:
- Model “O” Steinway Grand Piano from the early 1900s, made of mahogany with ivory keys. My parents bought this when I was in high school but it’s mine once I have room for it.
- 1993 Acura Integra that I drove until it died; lots of adventures, some modifications. It’s sitting in storage until I get around to fixing it.
- A black wool coat I bought after my first visit to Manhattan, 7 or 8 years ago. This was a first step toward changing my lifestyle and attitude toward life, success, ambition, etc. It’s a nice coat, but mainly it has a lot of symbolic value.
- All the books I’ve acquired over the years: classic literature, software, finance, history, psychology, philosophy.
I lost a lot of stuff on harddrives over the years though. Things I’d written, things I’d designed, stuff like that. I still have the drives in the hopes that maybe something can be recovered.
But most everything I have, I’d replace with the same if it was lost/stolen. I’m happy with them.

QFT
This has been a great thread. It reminded me of this scene from Harold and Maude. “So I’ll always know where it is.”
And this one from Fight Club
You call that a sleeping bag SexMachine, “subzero” -5°C lol
My favorite possession is an old F-14 fighter jet that I made while I was in prison. I checked out a few books about planes from the library and scaled the dimensions and planned the design. I gathered popsicle sticks from the yard for about a week, glued together various blocks. Carved it with a pencil sharpener blade and shaped it with sand paper and by sanding it on the various concrete surfaces of my cell. I was able to trade several packs of cigarettes for a small jar of varnish from someone who could “procure things”. The cockpit is made of bent paper clips and a piece of plastic I found on the ground. The stand is made from the handle of plastic razor with a paperclip glued to the end of it.
It took me months to make, because I had to modify the design several times to get it all to fit together and work the way I envisioned it. Also, one of the guards smashed it when it was nearly complete during a shake down, just to be a dick, but I was able to salvage most of the pieces.
It was originally a birthday present for my little brother, but after I got out, he returned it saying that it didn’t really “match” anything in his house and he didn’t want to display it because it embarrassed him to explain that I made it for him while I was locked up. So now I keep it in my safe. When my son is old enough to not break it, I’ll take it out again.
