What I don’t understand about this documentary is how he could have placed so high (or at all) when he hadn’t been training for very long. After watching this documentary it feels like anyone can do a bodybuilding contest assuming they can nail the contest prep. [/quote]

Well, the bottom line in competing is that you don’t know who else will show up on game day. THat being said, depending on the show, the lightweight class will have either some of the absolute BEST competitors (guys like Jim Cordova who are about 5’7, normally weigh 190 lbs, but diet down to 164 lb with zero percent bodyfat), or some of the absolutely smallest guys who just diet to insane levels to compensate for lack of any appreciable muscle mass. In the case of the video, I’m guessing we’ve got the second option.

Very Interesting. I guess it also helps to be aided by an IFBB throughout the process LOL.

Bump.

This movie is now available to watch instantly on netflix, I watched it the other day and throughly enjoyed it. My roommate watched it with me and was shocked by what he learned.

i too love this movie, and wish everyone i know would watch it, especially all my stupid ill-informed vegan and vegetarian friends. makes me want to go on a crusade to de-pussify america, and inform the public at the same time! I especially love the part where his GP saw his diet and goes “lets see the damage youve done!” oh wait he lost over 12 lbs and dropped bad cholesterol while improving the good kind, hmmm maybe eating foods weve eaten for thousands of years isnt bad for your heart and the culprit for diseases that are only a couple decades old…

it’s free on hulu.com

thanks for posting…
