We nearly need to deciding about a draft date now. I would like a live draft though I understand if its not plausible.
I would also, but I don’t know if it will be possible. Start ranking your players just in case. I’ll send out a league email soon.
We have around 10-12 in the league now, but I would love to add more. Anybody else want in?

I’m drafting 13th out of 14th in my league. Sandwiched between the only two guys who have won our championship twice. Should be fun.

Man that will be a challenge but fun. So who do you think will be available at that spot? You in yahoo, NFL, ESPN or CBS?

We do CBS, 8 years in and no complaints. We rent a conference room at a hotel every year for the draft. It’s one of the theatre style presentation rooms, Like 10 rows, each one with a huge table that goes from the side isles all the way across and each row behind you is a foot or two higher.
I think I will have a shot at a really good WR duo or a stud QB stud WR combo. All the stud RB’s will be off the board and both the WR and RB pools are very deep this year. By deep I mean outside of the studs, the guys from 10 only have a slight upside over the guys at 30. I can stock up on RB’s in round 3 and 4, or possibly even later.
Here is what I think will be gone by the time I pick at 13.
Johnson, Peterson, MJD, Rice, Gore, Turner, Jackson, Andre Johnson, Randy Moss, Drew Brees, Deangelo Williams, Cedric Benson.
Manning and or Rodgers could also go but that would give me a look at a RB, I’m not all that High on benson or deangelo so if rodgers and manning are gone it’s going to be WR/Wr for me in the first two. But I could land Like a Reggie Wayne, Fitz combo, Or Miles Austin and Calvin Jhonson. Who knows.
Our league scoring is .5 PPR and we have total game yardage bonuses and also TD’s are ramped for yardage, so 0-25 Yd is 4 Pt, 26-50 is 6 and 51 and over is 8. Big plays are rewarded and big games are rewarded.
In the past several years, WR have really closed the gap on the RB’s as far as the studs VS the studs. For instance, in the actual scoring from my league last season, out of the top 15 (approx round 1) and excluding QB’s who obviously score more. There were 5 RB’s 9 WR and 1 TE. The top 4 Were RB, but only chris Johnson was in a whole other scoring zone. Johnson scored 401, and then the rest of that top 16 went from 263 to 205. So in our league, the WR can give you some real good scoring. I’ll be in a position to grab 2 guys who can finish in the top 15 overall, If I have the first few picks, I could get the Top scorer, but most likley I would just end up getting 1 guy in that top 15. CJ went 5th overall last year and I think thats a pretty big anomoly. Also the guy with CJ didn’t win the league.
Catching lightning in a bottle will always help, but predicting that is going to be hard to do. I think if Manning or Rodgers comes to me at 13 and there is still a handful of stud WR left I am taking that Combo. Otherwise Like I said, the Two WR combo should work well.
Last years champ took Moss at #6 overall and then got Rodgers in round 2. Picking up Ray rice in the 4th and Wes Welker in the 6th didn’t hurt either.

I remember scoring from the box scores of the newspaper. Now I just do a family league about 10 of us and try to get in one more some how. That is why was pumped for a T-Nation league.
After listening to you guys talk I’m gratefull for the auto-pick. I know my players but my head is just spinning right now with how it all works. I’m a fantasy virgin, be gentle please lol.

Thats why you should never get in money league’s until you can win non-money league’s. I tell you what though you will watch more football than ever before cause you got guys playing on teams you would have never watched.
I just joined which leaves an odd amount of teams and will back out if we cannot get another team. I hate autopicks but understand why we have it because of the time zone issue. Is this a money league? I hope so.
We’ll be able to even it out, don’t worry about that. I would prefer it to be a money league also.

It is an awsome league, there are no half assing owners either. We have a waiting list too, when I joined 8 years ago we went from 12 to 14 teams and there were 5 people that were waiting to get in back then. LOL helps the commish is one of my best friends. It’s 210 Per team, so it’s good money but nothing ridiculous. Winner takes home like $800 bucks I think.

I would love that, I dont like to gamble but I have always loved Fantasy cause there is some skill involved. I dont know what it is in the medical field but there are not a lot of guys who get into this. Since this is what I work in sucks finding a league like yours.

I won’t be able to manage more than one team this year, I already dropped two other leagues. With my mom being sick, I don’t want to have too many other obligations out there. I also don’t like half assing anything, so I don’t want to join and then mail it in halfway through the season. Not fair to you guys. Also auto draft is not really something I’m interested in. If it’s a money league, you have to have a live draft IMO. If I WAS in the league, Time zones be damned, you can get 10 or 12 or 14 guys on the computer for 2 hours at the same time.
Anyways, I hope there is a spot available next year.

I would like to keep it $50 or under. How do we get the money to the commish? Palpal or I can even send it to him via DHL but that will add a few bucks for me.
Other than the dude from Ireland we are all within three hours(time zone) of each other in North America right? The only day it will be sketchy for me is Saturday Aug 28, I have to work overtime that day but I’ll be done by 2:00 pm my time hopefully. Maybe a saturday or sunday afternoon, Aug 21/22. I’ll go with the flow.
Saturdays from 4pm, Sundays from 2pm, would suit me (East Coast US times). I think it would be worth putting in the effort for a live draft. I’d like to keep the money under $50.
