But they do happen if you get lucky, look at how many QBs have had ONE good game, and then fall flat or are consistently mediocre.
I’m not saying the guy is a bust, I actually think that he’ll be decent, but starting Driver with what amounts to a relatively unknown performer at QB in the first game of the season is like starting him with a rookie caller.
I’m saying for the FIRST week of the season use Jackson. Mcnabb will get him plenty of catchable balls, he has a great matchup against STL’s young corners (which is what he is already use to seeing from college), and with his open field play he should get at least one touchdown.
That along with 7-10 catches and 80-100 yards makes him a good value. Sit on Driver in the first week and see how good Rogers performs.
If you were just playing them based on talent alone, I’d use Driver every day of the week. Unfortunately this isn’t the case since you have to factor in the play of the QB. Mcnabb is solid and LOVES his rookie receivers, look at how he used Baskett last year.
Rogers is still an unknown and could struggle, even against a bad secondary. IMO this makes Driver a poor first week play. If you feel good about the rest of your team, take a chance, it could payoff huge.
BUT I COULD ALSO BE WRONG!! It does happen on occasion, not often mind you, but it does happen by accident
That’s a pretty solid argument for DeSean this week. Of course, the beauty of fantasy is that after all the matchup analysis and keeping up with all the latest news, we never really know how it’ll all go down on Sunday.

And look at how many players have had good preseasons and fall flat on their face. I agree that DeSean is a high upside pick this week and he seems to be the popular fantasy sleeper pick right now. But I just can’t see him outperforming Driver.
Grant played what, one play all preseason, so they are going to limit his touches in the beginning of the season which means more passing. Which means more chances for Driver, especially with James Jones out with a hammy.
But I could also be wrong too. I just love talking football!
