Okay…

Even though its been around for what…10 years???

I just started watching “The Family Guy”! (So sue me!)

I’m intrigued by the baby, Stewie (He’d probably call me a bitch for calling him a baby!)

So is his thing:

 1. He hates his mother?

 2. He wants to take over the World and

 3. Everyone in the World and around him are idiots?

(He sure does have a patient Mom!)

Any more insights?

(P.S. The show a) cracks me up and b)is definitely not “PC”!)

The Late Lion!

Stewie is the shit. No one in the family can understand what he says but the dog. Everyone else on the planet seems to understand him just fine.

Past that, you are fucking late as hell on this one. Family Guy has been a great show for a LONG time.

Family guy is funny, but I’m not sure you can call it great. The writing is mediocre at best, and the only reason it’s funny is because of the randomness/absurdity/crudeness. Someone else said they get tired of it after a few weeks, I feel the same way. Also, after the first 2 seasons Stewie was no longer an evil genius with an unlimited arsenal, toned down his accent and got ALOT gayer. funny show but way overrated.
Family Guy is the greatest cartoon/animated show ever! I never get tired of watching reruns. I think I quote it too much in real life. It relates in so many ways.

“ooh, piece of candy, ooh piece of candy” classic, lol

“I am boring myself. Time for some music.”

Who said it and when?

Yes he has. One episode he told brian to have sex with the next person he sees and then turned on the light and had his face right in front of Brian’s.

Have to agree, Stewie was better when he was evil.

I stopped watching the show after the prom night dumpster baby episode. Not that I was offended or anything but it seemed that they stopped trying to be funny and were just going out of their way to shock.

I will say that the star wars episode was one of the greatest parodies I have ever seen.

star wars episode peter?

Totally agree on everything you said. Stewie was like a baby version of Brain from Pinky and the brain. Now he’s a future Clay Aiken.
I thought he was more fun as the Brain… I always assumed Chris was Pinky.

I agree that the show gets old after a while.

They seem to be back on track. There are literally only two episodes I kind of cringed when I watched them…that one and the episode with Brian’s son.

 1. He is a flaming homosexual.

Yep, Zap is right. When the later seasons hit, they dropped hints at his gayness. And that past two seasons made him as gay as Queer eye for the Straight guy.
I like how they changed it - the evil genius thing was fun for a while but Stewie as an old, gay British guy is great.

Wow!

I thought there may be a few fans here!

I have a tendency to study things when I get interested in them. It seems that the writers/creator of “The Family Guy” have played around with Stewie’s sexuality, and decided that for more writing and creative flexibility to keep it ambiguous. (A few of you guys have indicated that very thing).

Since I’m new to the cartoon, I tend to see episodes that go between a lot of years, and even I’ve seen them toy with where exactly they want to take the Little Guy.

And as someone said, there are some things that can make you “cringe” sometimes (I’ve seen them “push the edge”). But overall, its pretty funny and satirical.

(I’m surprised jsbrook? hasn’t posted here. Doesn’t he have Stewie as as Avatar?)

Mufasa

search youtube for Family Guy, Seth McFarlane did a 3 pt speech at a Harvard Graduation. Pretty fuckin funny

I have to cycle Family Guy. I’ll watch it for a few weeks and then the randomness of it starts to get to me and I just don’t find it funny.
A PCT of American Dad usually helps. Throw in some Simpsons if gyno starts to flare up.

south park is better, it is a funny show however highly overrated. it seems like every episode has the same joke set up in it

off the top of my head aqua teen hunger force, boondocks and south park are shows i enjoy more

“There’s always been a lot of tension between Lois and me, and it’s not so much that I want to kill her, it’s just I want her not to be alive anymore. Ah, I sometimes wonder if all women are this difficult, and then I think to myself: My God, wouldn’t it be marvelous if I turned out to be a homosexual?”

Nope. No Peter.

Hint:

It was during a bar scene

(Yes, I do remember really random stuff)

South Park did a hilarious Family Guy two-parter.

Lol that one was great. “You should love Family Guy, it’s totally your sense of humor.” I like South Park more but don’t get to watch it because my school doesn’t have Comedy Central. I get my fill of Family Guy during TBS reruns. Great show. I love the old guy (Herman or somethin’?) and Adam West. “I can’t go into Connecticut, if I do, I’ll be inside every other state CT’s been with.”

Hell yeah a Family Guy thread. I personaly think the show is brilliant. It seems that everything about the show just fits me perfectly. The whole show is joke after joke in the form of a story line.

I love how the jokes range from the extremely stupid fart joke level to very smart and clever. I believe Mcfarlane has been quoted on saying he literally is trying to see how far he can push the limit on what they will allow him to do.

I’m pretty random myself, so I appreciate that aspect of the humor. My personal favorite part though is the jokes that run on from past episodes to new ones, for example the Chicken vs. Peter fight. There is nothing better than watching an episode then all of a sudden there is a five minute well written brawl between a chicken and Peter then it goes back to where they left off like nothing happened.

I’m starting to ramble now but another thing i really appreciate is the show seems to be really genuine. It seems like Seth Mcfarlane isnt just trying to cash in on a consumer market that craves what corporate america wants to throw at them. This is especially apparent in the choice of music for the show with the musicals, which being a music buff and musician, i love.
