Extremely Frustrated - What is Going On?

The previous 3 labs before this one the ALT was in the mid 30s.

Well I finally got a TRT protocol. .02 ML 2x per week with 1/2mg of anastrozole per week. I do have the option to add in hcg as well but am unsure if it’s needed. I do want to maintain fertility as I’m only 30. Hopeful and nervous that this works!

I assume you mean 0.2ml?

You need to speak in milligrams. Is that 100mg per week total?

Drop the AI when starting your protocol. If you find you need it later, start with 0.25mg/week and assess. The stuff is very potent and can have terrible side effects. So best to avoid it if you can.

Regarding HCG, you can add it later as well - whenever you want to be fertile, can can run HCG to get your boys working again. But leave it off for now. Since you’re just starting you want to get the testosterone only dialed in, then add other drugs one at a time to see how you react.

I like that idea. 1MG a week put me down in the dumps at a whopping 6 for my E2. I do think I will need .25 every week though because my baseline is 34 for E2 without it. Would probably be up in the 40s or 50s on TRT?

Hard to say. Mine went from 15 to 40 once on 150mg/week. My SHBG did the opposite. Results vary a lot, your body adjusts your hormones to accommodate for the exogenous T.

As far as the E2 goes. There is no harm in going over the range a little. I’d see how far it goes up in 8 weeks, then asses how you feel before adding an AI.

Mine was highish with low T. I am on 200 mg a week no AI and feel fine. Go by how you feel, and don’t change things very often.

BTW, dosing more frequently will keep E2 lower. I dosed every 3 days when on 150mg/week. And now I dose every other day since starting 175mg/week.

That isn’t a problem.

Why do so many hormone docs prescribe it if it’s okay to be so high?

My E2 is 80 on TRT. It’s only been somewhat recently that people have begun to realize the positive effects of estrogen and the negative effects of lowering it with AI’s. There’s also the fact that so many people use AI’s because so many people before them used them and so on. Higher T levels require higher estrogen levels. For me when I stopped keeping estrogen below 30 my libido and well being changed drastically. It’s slowly catching up to the TRT community that controlling estrogen for no reason isn’t ideal.

I’ll provide you another data point:

I’m currently on 200mg test cyp once a week, 500 IU HCG twice a week. I dropped .5mg anastrozole once a week because it made me feel awful. I was lifting 4-5 times a week with occasional HIIT and feeling spectacular. My first bloodwork post-TRT showed an E of 33 and TT of 800.

Since the gym closed, I have been doing what I can with an EZ bar and some plates, bodyweight exercises and walks with 35 pounds on my back. I’m not feeling nearly as good, confirming what I suspected about regular strenuous exercise being part of the winning formula on TRT.

Doesn’t higher estrogen levels = unwanted side effects like belly fat, man boobs, higher risk of blood clots, and more?

No it doesn’t. Higher E with higher T helps with better libido, fat burning, wellbeing, bone density/joints, and many other things. Having low T and high E is another story same as high T and low E. Both cause issues. The problem is there’s a mental aspect you have to overcome because estrogen has been demonized for so long because it was misunderstood. Probably due to some in the bodybuilding community’s understanding from the past. I have one of the highest E2 levels in the T-replacement section (I’m sure there’s folks with higher) and I have never looked or felt better in my life. It was a struggle at first having had gyno previously and being deathly scared of getting it again. It took me about a year to come around and thankfully I did.

No. With higher T, you need higher E2.

@coldstate
Im on 175mg EOD shots, no AI. Libido is strong. Dont take your AI. You should be benefiting and not feeling sides from higher E. Its not like your E will surpass your exogenous T. Lets your body adjust. Your nuts might shrink a bit, and you could feel testicular discomfort for 2 weeks max. Ejaculate will change during this time but dont be alarmed. Once you shutdown completely you may feel a bit different but Stick with it. In 2-3 months you will feel the difference. At this point you can introduce HCG at 100iu EOD. Watch your balls swell back up. Its kinda fun watching this happen. Main thing is dont change anything during the first 3 months. Have fun! And dont take an AI. Be a man and dont puss out by changing protocol midway. This will only complicate your life. Start your protocol and leave this forum. Come back in 3 months. I personally cannot wait to hear about the positive changes that will happen for you!

Yes it can, especially man boobs and fat, do not listen to the bro scientists, they are just sheep repeating “the new thing”, they come and go thruout the years, they will be gone within the coming years, always the same thing.

Took my first injection today .02 ML.

Dose is 80MG/Week or .2 ML x 2.

I wanted to start out with a low dose and then go up from there rather than start high and have to come down. I still want to maintain my fertility as I’m only 30 and going to be 31 soon. I won’t go sterile by not doing HCG right away?

I’m still unsure about doing no AI since my E2 level hovers around 34 and I have some slight man boobs already.

I know this is just semantics but you’re taking .2mL x2 right? Not .02mL. 40mg twice a week.

Correct. Sorry.
