Explaining What You Do

The reason people do this is the same reason humans fuck everything else up–ego. Deep down, they know they should be eating better, but they ignore it. When you’re eating intelligently in front of them, it’s impossible for them to ignore it, and they feel guilty that they are not doing the same thing. So, what’s the easiest thing they can do to make themselves feel better? making a commitment to doing better, or trying to knock you off the wagon?

When I was working, I always had the same issue with co-workers, so I developed a rule called “the homemade rule”. If a coworker made the item from scratch then I would eat it. But if it was store-bought crackers, candy, etc., I avoided it. A couple of people found my new way of handling office food kind of interesting and starting doing it themselves. Why cheat on crap? But something made with a little thought and effort was worth partaking.

agreed, one of my best mates wont leave this alone, I’m currently on a no carb and no alcohol diet the whole time he gives me shit about it and deliberately tries too make me fail…for example sending me random messages saying the normal coke he drank was soo good, eating fried chips in my face

btw he is fatter than me, weaker than me and does worse with women than me … it gets on my nerves

If you wanna be a jerk about it, point at a skinny guy and say “I gotta eat more than I would ever want so I don’t look like him”. The nicer way is “I gotta eat more than I would ever want to so I can weigh more than 140 pounds”.

Now if I can just find a way to explain my habit of picking at my calluses with a pocketknife…

I may as well be a fucking Martian to my coworkers.

Everyday, I get gasps of horror as I eat almonds, broccoli, and a random chunk of animal.

“Oh, no carbs? Atkins didn’t work for me.”

“What are all those pills? ::pill diatribe::” (Fish oil!)

And I swear to God an old fat man was borderline pissed off that I refused to eat the hotdogs and chili and white buns and nachos he brought in. I thanked him profusely, but I was not going to eat it. People fucking hate that you eat healthy but they don’t.

I am not didactic or holier than thou in my life journey to other people so I don’t get the animosity toward me for it. Fuck 'em. What does suck is when they ask what I do. “Thib’s carb cycling”. Or whatever. It’s all a waste of breath.

“I eat few carbs. I lift weights. My cardio is sprinting, slow jogging, then sprinting again over and over. I take a lot of fish oil, and yes each day begins with 4 whole eggs, with the murderous yolk intact.”
People just hate seeing that you dont conform to their standards of mediocrity and sloth. Just keep doing what your doing… and give a middle finger to everyone else:) Ive been in the same situation and I find its not really even worth the time to justify or explain yourself, because most people just dont “get it” anyways, which makes anything you say a major waste of energy.

Whats sad is that people who ‘don’t get why we do it’ usually know that eating this way makes you look good. The thing that is sad to me is knowing this information, wouldnt you just want to do it so you can feel the best you can about yourself and everything around you?
No accountability to one’s body or a massive degree of mental retardation. I could make cases for both

loool
