Expired/Discounted Muscle Milk Worth It?

I came across a site that has a “short dated & expired” section. They have Muscle Milk RTD’s with a “sell by” date of August. They also have a giant “GUARANTEED FRESH” after the date. Seems like a contradiction but whatever. My question is, how do you guys feel about getting a deal on expired Muscle Milk. I would say hell no to expired regular grocery store milk and kinda feel the same way about this stuff.

But it’s 4 bottles, 14oz for $4.99 and the ones I’ve been buying from the grocery store are 11oz for almost $4 for one. So good deal, I think?, but I don’t want to get sick for saving a few bucks.
Thanks,
Steve

Are you talking about the powder or RTD bottled stuff? Cause I would be fine with the powder being expired by a few months but this is the premixed liquid in a bottle.

im talking about the powder. i wouldnt think there would be a problem with the premixed muscle milk though.

I would say go for it. sounds like a hellova deal compared to what you pay now.

But mainly i just replied to tell you, that you have a KICK ASS user name…

5FDP!!!

So here’s my email to Cytosport…“Can I drink Muscle Milk RTD that is beyond the expiration date? I just noticed there are a few websites that sell it past it’s expiration date. Not the powder. The premixed ready to drink stuff.”

I guess I shouldn’t have called it an expiration date. Geez.

The response…“Our products do not have an expiration date. An expiration date is required in the drug industry, not ours. We use best by dating on our products. Best by can be defined as :
A best by date specifies the period of time which a product can be stored under specific conditions and remain in optimum condition suitable for consumption. This best by date does not mean the product is unfit for sale or consumption. Further, a best by date corresponds to the physical attributes of the product. Many manufacturers use best by dating to inform the consumer of optimal shelf life on specific products stored under appropriate storage conditions. As with many products, the product physical characteristics may change over time but remains safe to consume.”

So there it is. Try it and it won’t make you sick. It also might not work as well as the fresh stuff. If that’s what physical characteristics means.
I’ll buy it, try it and let you all know.

And yeah. 5FDP is great to lift to. I’ve only heard a little of the new album and it might not be as good as the first but it still rocks. \vv/ ← that’s supposed to be the devil horns but I don’t think I did it right.

I’d buy it.

Those are sealed up pretty tight if we’re thinking about the same item.

and then I looked at your avatar. Funny.
I’ve read some stuff on other forums and it ranges from “it tasted horrible” to “it was fine.” So I guess it’s safe but might taste different than the fresh stuff, might not. I’ll buy some and let you all know how they are.
