I’m friggin craving a double cheese burger with bacon, chili-cheese fries, and a hot dog with chili, ketchup, hot sauce, onions and chopped pepperoncini… this weekend, I’m going to go crush that at this local joint. CAN’T WAIT!

Olive oil?

GOMAD =D

I actually consume 2 tablespoons of olive oil with every meal. I just drink it, since I don’t get much fat elsewhere in my diet.

GOMAD would definitely do it, lol… Unfortunately, milk is not in my list of things I can have in great qualities. :disappointed:

It’s expensive as shit, but have you tried fair life milk? I knew a couple of guys who were full blown lactose intolerant and they slam that stuff back

Thank you for the recommendation man. I’m not lactose intolerant or anything like that. Its funny you recommend it, I actually have some Fair Life whole milk in my fridge right now.

I have psoriasis, and milk in general, along with a plethora of other common foods cause it to flare up. So, I only consume stuff like that in small quantities. Instead of taking the shitty drugs they have on the market, I follow an extremely regimented diet during the week. I don’t eat like I do for fat loss, physique or anything, it is strictly to help control my condition.

Ah, gotcha, Yeah I have it as well. It stays dormant most the time though. In ninth grade, my whole hand, forearm, and some of my bicep was covered in cracks and such. I couldn’t open my hand without it bleeding. So if milk caused it to flare up, I too would steer away from it. Ha

Right on man, so you don’t have any problems with it as an adult? I didn’t start getting it till I was 19 or so, after I enlisted in the Marines, in very small patches. I’m 33 now and it got to where my hands, elbows, knees, and feet where covered with it. I still have it, but you can barely see it, thanks to my diet. It is the only thing I’ve found to keep it in check.

That sucks.

Can you eat whole salmon? It’s very fatty and rich in calories.

Not really. I have flare ups from time to time, but nothing too crazy. On my neck, hands, and knees now it seems but pretty mild. Diet is definitely the best thing to fix it it seems

Yeah, I eat raw salmon (sushi) 1-2 times a week. Chicken and fish are my main protein sources.

I get pretty bad psoriasis all over my back and have never really heard of someone successfully combatting it through diet. So I’m curious besides milk what else have you noticed brings about flare ups?

Well, it would probably be better to say would DOES NOT flare it up rather than what does… but here is that I have found does make my psoriasis worse…

-Dairy
-Grain, including rice, oatmeal
-Bread, Pasta
-Beef, pork, lamb
-Eggs
-Pretty much every single oil, EXCEPT olive oil
-anything processed (deli meat, hotdogs, sausages)
-whey and casein protein

During the week I eat nothing but fruit, vegetables, chicken, fish, amaranth, grits, and olive oil. It gets old, but my psoriasis pretty much clears right up. On the weekend, I will splurge for 1 or 2 meals. My psoriasis always comes back though after I do that though.

I really appreciate the list. Didn’t expect it to be just about all the things I eat though. I have no idea how you manage to follow that strict of a diet.

You’re welcome. It was a little difficult in the beginning, but I slowly started taking things out of my diet. It wasn’t all at once. I experimented and over time found what bothered me, and what didn’t, as well as some lengthy research. It started with fast food, then all processed food, then bread and pasta, and so on. Took me about 1.5 years to make a full discovery of everything that fucked with me.

Some other positives, outside of the psoriasis, is that I feel incredible when I follow my diet. I got pretty damn lean (at 33 years old) despite eating over 300 grams of carbs a day. I didn’t realize how shitty certain foods made me feel until l started to take a lot of my common items out of my daily diet. I discovered certain foods will give me headaches, make me extremely hot, etcetera.

Everything was lighter and it still fight like crap. Oh well… I’ve been in a “Meh, whatever.” attitude with my training for awhile. Not really fighting for anything, just getting what little work I do done and getting on with the rest of my day. It is working for me for the time being.
