It would have to be a million times the size of the largest luxury liner ever made to carry the half of them. What dd these animals eat fpr 40 days? I have 3 cats who can go through a box of food or more in a day- imagine how much 2 of each animal must eat over 40 days…2 elephants, 2 hippos, 2 crocodiles…and wat of the aquatic animals?

Was this rain salt water or fresh? Thats important because a deluge 2 miles+ deep of any one type of water would have killed off all fresh or all salt-water species. Did noah also bring aboard 2 of each type of whale? Who disposed of the waste? Was there a crew of several tens of thousands of men to atend to these animals?

How did the ark move? did it have sails or did slaves row at banks of oars? or was it a dead calm scenario where it sat in one place the whole time? 40 days of rain must have had the crew working double duty with the buckets, bailing out tons of water daily as it filled up the lower decks. Damn, this must have been quite a sight indeed…

Plus I believe, scientifically, it is on the shoulders of the person making the claim to prove their claim, not to make a claim, hold it as true and say it is until proven otherwise. We take our observations, make a hypothesis and when proven it becomes a theory.

But all that aside, where is the water that was able to cover the entire planet deep enough to hold a very large barge like ship?

The funny thing is that the ark is one of the few bible stories that is scientifically testable. Merlin, if you really believe the that the ark could hold all those animals along with their food, why don’t you get some “scientific” creationist backing and build one. The instructions are in the bible. Then you could put it to sail four 40 days. You could even pick how many animals you wanted to carry by picking either of the two versions.

I’m sure you won’t even try to do it. It would be a huge failure. It would be far larger than any wooden ship ever built, and they stopped building wooden ships any bigger because they reached theoretical limitations.

It is obvious that god would have to magic all kinds of stuff to make it possible, but if god has to magically protect the ark and the animals, why doesn’t he just magically zap the evil people that he wants to kill and skip the flood? As a matter of fact how can an all knowing all powerful deity have an experiment go wrong?
