Yeah, but he has the maturity level of a 6 year old.

Little shit-head, but I love him. Recently taught himself to burp on demand. He thinks that’s hysterical too.

He did get tested as ‘gifted’ whatever the fuck that means at that age. But he reads at a 5th grade level. He reads a lot.
Like I said if he has a humor at that age then he is probably a very bright kid. Hopefully he never loses it I am almost 40 and I still think is funny to burp on demand.

I still ask the kids to pull my finger.
Oh, I don’t think he will. He is a happy kid.

He also got in trouble at school for setting up other kids. He would get them to do something to get them in trouble and step back observing with his best poker face. He needs to work on the poker face.

:expressionless:

My son was tested and found to be ‘gifted’.

he went to the GATE (gifted and talented) classes.

then in HS he took all the AP (advanced placement) classes.

graduated, went through 6 years of college, and…since the final was all political, graduated, walked with his class, but still (he’s 27) has not completed his final and does not have a degree.

now has six figures worth of student debt, does not have his degree, and works at the Apple store in the mall.

apparently, this Apple store if full of politics, and jerks also - I don’t think he will be there long. is talking about getting his masters, but has no real plant to make that happen.

NOW…

I have a nephew. graduated with a 2.5 average from HS. Did a couple of years at a JC, went into the Millwrights…and is now making six figures a year, owns a house, couple cars, boat, etc. no student debt.
has 2 kids. He’s 27.

now, I ask you…who was the gifted and talented one in this situation?

Ok, the guy at the who loads up the bar with a bunch of 45’s and does quarter squats does quarter chinups too…

Somehow I’m not surprised…
how bout the guy that loads up the smith machine with 4 plates and 2 quarters, wraps his knees, wears a belt, and has 2 spotters…then does less than 1/4 squats.

and is built like a russett potato.
He uses a belt…

I should suggest knee wraps to him.

Your son.

The nephew has work ethic. That’s what ultimately mattered in this comparison for success.

I remember my 6th grade teacher telling the class about Jr. Colleges and how even if you did poorly in High School, you could always go to a Jr. College. I’m not really sure why he told us this (maybe we were a class of dumbasses?).

I took his advice to heart and did poorly in High School.

Went to a Jr. College and transfered to a university.

Exactly have to agree with Brad.
Intelligence is only a tool, takes a lot more tools to build a house then just a hammer.

If your son found some gumption to act and apply his gifts, he would school your nephew.

Smart can’t help lazy.

So, Edgy…

How did it work out for ya?

I feel like maybe your nephew is destined for greatness. How is he with the ladies, considering age of course?

Hmmm… I don’t thinkk the 80’s ended too well for that guy.

Dude, he’s 7!

There is another story about a note he wrote last year for some older girls (4th graders) down the street.

Needless to say, he needs to work on his game.
