Fuck. I hate firing people.

She has had at least 8-9 Monday call ins this year. She ran out of sick time and vacation time months ago. Her work performance sucks and she constantly causes drama and poor moral with the other staff.
Look at it this way, you’re doing her a favor. She doesn’t want to be at work, maybe because she’d rather be out partying on a Sunday night, or she hates her job, or some other reason.

Let her go and let her find something that she’ll enjoy more. She may ultimately feel relieved.

<----------- has fired lots of people.

I have people I have fired come back and actually tell me that. I have enough reason for cause, so not worried about that.

Just that time of year I feel kind of shitty doing it.
Keep in mind that SHE is the one who did this, not you. I get pissed that people put me in the position where I have to let them go. At the same time, it’s such a relief when they’re gone, because they can suck the life out of the people around them.

She’s firing herself, really.

I know IH. I tend to be to nice and get sucked into personal hardship. To much of the nurse in me I guess.

Hey, I totally understand and caring’s a GOOD thing.

Did you let her know that it’s to the point where her job is in jeopardy?

I hate firing people for stupid shit, like lateness or just missing time in general.
So have any of you fired someone you really didn’t like and felt the satisfaction you get from a massive dump?
Yes

No, Jesus showed up at this time of year to wash your sins with blood which some how cleanses you of all wrong doing.

You are magically safe.
I love the Jesus Meme, that probably is sending me to Hell.

Also this staff member printed up a whole ream of paper and wasted a whole ream on religious internet quotes.
Well you probably won’t go to hell but maybe you’ll be a homeless ghost forever for not letting her shine her light from your hill.

Maybe try eating a cracker and drinking some wine tonight, just not too much because at some point you will cross the line to the hypocrisy of gluttony and drunkeness.

Where is the line? Who knows. Perhaps you can find discernment knowledge on her homemade bible and forgiveness too. Just be hungry when you eat the cracker and chase your wine with water or something.

Never fired anyone but have gotten people fired(part of my job).

I felt nothing. 0_0
Maybe it’s all those ginger genes in me.

Nope. I hire everyone as well, so I don’t hire people I don’t think I’m going to like. It’s a huge perk, being your own boss.

You know the old Police song, “Murder by Numbers”? Firing people is a lot like that. The first few are the hardest, then you realize that you’re doing both parties a favor.

Attica…helluva place.

Absolutely.

Although, things have changed since the place that I used to work for, sold us to a vendor.

They cut my staff by more than 50% (mainly sub-par workers) and outsourced the jobs. So, in a way, it’s made quite a few things easier for me. Now, people are scared shitless to make mistakes (even though they still happen) because they fear for thier jobs.

Plus, the people that they let go, they won’t be replaced and the work will be distributed to everyone else. Not to mention that we’re getting more and more work on top of it all.

I’m just glad that i’m still employed.

You’ve never hired someone that turned out to be not what you expected?

Sychronicity is a great album

See this lady was one of my first hires as a manager, and she did NOT live up to expectations.

Of course I have. I may have interpreted the question incorrectly. I’ve felt relieved firing people because in my line of work, unsuccessful people are a terrible financial drain on my company. I’ve never felt a tremendous amount of relief that I rid my office of a d-bag or someone who I didn’t get along with from a personality standpoint.

I’m doing really bad with staying away with office and student supplied treats! I ate half a chocolate chip zucchini bread.

How do you guys have such will power?

I take a bite and just chew on it; when no one is looking I spit it out into a paper napkin. I get to enjoy the taste without consequences.

People whom I have told this to seem to think it borders on an eating disorder, but I do not see anything wrong with it.

I also keep protein powder and peanut butter in the office to snack on.

I hate it when the gym is busy and I have wait for a station…

Yeah, that’s pretty eating disorder like. I’m probably going to have to do the shake idea. Just constantly be full.

no willpower.

if I want it, I have it.

satiation knows no bounds.
