Mornin’ 2b!
Thanks rodster!
someday
Good morning. I am still awake from yesterday. Just got home…from an hour and a half of working overtime due to a high roller who refused to leave. Thanx to him I got to deal blackjack for 2 hours without a break, without a single tip, and he is down 40K…he’d taken out 50K worth of markers and was down to under 10K when I left.

Morning Dash.
I agree with RD. Don’t limit yourself mentally.
You’ll get there in 5 lb increments. But you’ll get there.

In general, is there a standard percentage for tipping the dealer?

You have nine kids. I’m betting you all can take me. Plus you always have a spotter. After 365 I start looking for someone to just stand near me.
You win.
9 kids? What the fuck?! Is there no birth control in Nebraska?
It’s a long story.

I would be interested in hearing this story. I just assumed you were Mormon or catholic.

I am not Mormon. (Although I have stayed in SLC)
Ex-Catholic, but that didn’t play into it.
I can create a Cliff’s Notes version for friends if they really want to know.
Sigh.

I hope one of your kids becomes a football star. Because paying for college is gonna suck.
My oldest (girl) got a full scholarship and book fees for the university here in town.
My next oldest (boy) joined the Marines Reserves to pay for his college and had some scholarships from HS. He went in in January and finally finished all his training today. He went from Private to Lance Corporal in that time, was Honor Guide for his platoon @ MCRD.
The next one (boy, HS Senior) has a full scholarship to a College 30 miles from here.
The next one (girl HS Sophomore) is taking geometry and algebra this year, and is slotted to take College level Calculus her senior year.
I think I’m doing ok.

No, not really. For blackjack, ppl usually tip the change when they get a blackjack. Typical bet is $25, which pays $32.50. Most players tip the $2.50. Or if a split or double down pays off. It’s pretty individual. Some players refuse to tip because they think we’re making bank and we have to tell them that no, we work for tips, if we’re not tipped, we don’t get paid. My base pay is $4.50/hr, that basically covers all the miscellaneous shit that is taken out of my paychecks (taxes, meals, social security, benefits (if you have them)). A typical 80 hour (two week) paycheck is about $1200, which averages out to something like 40-42K a year. The dealers at the Hard Rock in Miami, are making 80-90K a year because their tip rate is like $45/hr, where ours is averaging $16-17/hr, and Atlantic City is doing $9-11/hr…Of course a lot of the Atlantic City dealers are full time, been in the business for 20 years and are making base pay of $9-10/hr.
