Same question I have. Why can’t I just get knee replacements NOW instead of living in pain and having to take drugs and not enjoying things?
My FIL just got a knee replacement after farming for over 30 years. Doctors were amazed that he could even walk.
I’m making my list of questions for my next appt.

I met some friends down at the outside bar (buddy and his gf) who had randomly made friends with this cute girl next to them. She was sitting on a high barstool so I had no idea how diminutive she was. We hit it off chatting for a few hours and drinking, yada yada yada my larger crew of friends (who had been a the Bellagio gambling) made it to the bar in time to see me dancing and MAYBE making out JUST A LITTLE BIT with a girl who is, I shit you not, a legitimate 4’6"-4’7". I am 6’3".
I could hear them laughing over the sound of live music from a good 30 feet away. UGH. Stupid Vegas.

At this point in time knee replacements have come a long, long way. However I have a few ortho Dr friends and I asked them point blank about the knee replacements. Here is what they said.
Its like a pair of tennis shoes, say you could only buy one pair ever again. At what age are those shoes going to last longer? 80 or 40? You can get about a good 10 years out of knee replacements.

Why not? You also may be able to get pain free to do squats etc.
Lunges are probably not a good idea unless you use really strict form, no lateral movement or knees over the toes.

You may be not be sitting back far enough so even when you squat now your knees go over your toes.

How far apart are your feet in your stance? Are your toes straight ahead?

x2 on working with your form. I have osteoarthritis in both knees and I can squat without pain so long as I take a wide stance and sit back when squatting. Deads have never been a problem.
I cannot jog or run much, but I can do hill sprints so long as I stay on my toes; almost no shear and minimal impact on the knees.
