OK guys I am officially hanging up the lifting shorts, permanently this time, seeing a surgeon next week.
List of Lifting injuries:

hip problems
anterior knee pain
calf tear right where the calf becomes the Achilles tendon
Starting to think I have connective tissue problems.
The final nail in the coffin started about 2 months ago with pain around my man parts. Pain is now constant, really bad night, went to urgent care this morning.

I’m happy it’s over. Well, as over as it is.
I just will have to deal with the residual issues for another… 15 years.

Yep, I am definitely working on my baggage too.
I don’t want the next guy to have to deal with it.
It’ll get better. ![]()
Hi Brother Chris!
I see you. ![]()
It’s about midnight, and I am FUCKED UP (drunk).
Just got home, ankles a bit sore from the astro turf, and have a turf burn on my elbow, but I did well. We ended up losing because we had a quarter back who couldn’t throw the ball to save his life, the man couldn’t hit water throwing from an island. We also had some receivers who couldn’t catch at all, they couldn’t catch VD in a whore house. Not to mention referees who were so bad, that I told them to go back to Foot Locker with their jerseys and whistles.
My take on things was, that I saw guys who I played with in high school who were studs, fucking dying within the first 2 series. Guys winded, fat, out of breath, weak, slow, and generally miserable bastards that if the rapture actually would have happened today, it would have been their blessing. It seemed almost miraculous to the blobs who showed up, that it was possible to achieve some level of muscularity, leanness, and athleticism while getting a bit older. Shit, I am faster NOW than back in my 20’s, yet not lugging around 50+ lbs of lard.
My situation with the stool pigeon who told on my friends and I was rather funny. I saw him, he saw me, and I was able to smile. While he ratted out 8 people to save himself, he looked truly miserable. Fat, out of shape, and slovenly all around. I introduced him to the girl he ended up marrying and eventually divorcing, and to give you an idea of how bad this prick fuck is, when he got divorced, he asked for her breast implants back. Yes, he wanted them back (since he felt that he paid for them), and I am wondering…WTF would he do with them if he did get them back ??? No words exchanged, there was a mediator for the both of us, and he was told to keep his distance from me.
Went out for beers after, most people seemed miserable (but me). I think I have my bad days, but that seems normal compared to guys who literally hated the idea of leaving the bar to go home to their wives and kids. Alot of things I heard tonight were talked about in here or in SAMA threads about relationships. But in general, the common theme among all the misery was an unhappiness within themselves.
Maybe this whole “hitting the weights” thing and eating clean is not so much about the strength or physique, but not letting fear take control. That is why people hate us I think. Because we do not succumb while others do. Things like strength, physique, and athleticism don’t lie. You can tell when someone claims to lift or eat clean yet looks like a fucking slob is lying, and that is why I think people like us sexy beasts. You cannot bullshit your physique, if you look good, you are doing something good, and there really isn’t much getting around any of that.
So while I heard “wow Max you look better than you did in high school, and you move like a man who stole something,” what I took from it was, "wow you didn’t end up like us. You show discipline and courage when shit gets tough.
Ok my head is spinning, and I should not have had the past few beers, off to bed.
Night you animals.
Someone post the slow clap gif for Max please! Good stuff.
We do what we do for a reason.
And good work not slicing that snitch’s fucking throat.
You went through some hell behind that… but look at you now.
I’m not drunk just tired so yeah goodnight animals.

Congrats on sticking to your training it’s a shame the others on your team didn’t do the same.

Yes, I see you too Charlie Horse.
Long story short, I am doing rehab and the old lifting numbers (working max 450 sq/dl 315 bench 225mil) were putting me out of commission every time I lifted because the only thing bigger than my backside is my ego. So, now I am down to embarrassing weights in order to gain strength and do rehab. And I didn’t want anyone to mistake me for being a skinny kid and squatting 205 for 5, I wanted them to realise that a 280# man is doing 205 for reps and he just DGAF anymore.

I was just reading your log. I think if you tough out the rehab you could definitely come out of it stronger than before your injuries. You just need patience and persistence, like when you’re dealing with atheists.
I used to be much stronger and fitter but I got out of the habit because I was a knucklehead at least you had an injury. lol
HI!!
