One of the Crossfitter’s at the gym commented on the weight I was using for squats last night.

Nice, sounds like the hernia repair isn’t an issue anymore…?

No more pain on military press, yay!

I bought five finger KSOs 2 days ago. I must say I’ve become a fan, but my left pinky is being rubbed the wrong way. I hope that the sole softens up quickly cuz they’re pretty awesome.

Any improvement on the injury front, Bass?

I have a follow up to go over my MRI results on Monday. This was my fault; I thought they would have setup the appointment for me after the MRI, they didn’t, I should have known better.

I did a 40 goblet squat and run 400 meter workout for 10 rounds in my V5F. Calves were sore for about 10 days after.

Yeah, today was my last day of unemployment.

Started the day with Crossfit, then went shopping and a quick hike up the butte. Was a beautiful day!

Tomorrow is new employee orientation, yipee!

Thanks! I plan on having fun. I can’t wait to get a routine going again. Being unemployed sucks. Financially I was okay because I had enough money saved and am cheep enough that I could live off of unemployment even if I didn’t have savings, but I miss having a real routine to fill my days.

I got some knee news. NO TEARS!!! I have patella femoral syndrome aka, front of knee pain. Doc said I have a spot of softened cartilage, but that all in all for having clicking popping and cracking for half of my life the damage is not all that severe. PT should clear up the tracking issues that caused all this. But he was worried about the on again off again hip issue from last year. Basically more hip pain has equaled more knee pain. Got the hip x-rayed, said to call in the AM, may have to go PT for that too.

Once all this is cleared up, I’m thinking of going the crossfit route. All these issues, stressing out over them, and lack off cardio has me feeling…fluffy.

I strained my quad today while sprinting, probably my rectus femoris from what it feels like. Any advice anyone ?

I’m glad that it’s not serious.

I enjoy crossfit. It can be fun for a change of workouts.

Brother this shit happened to me in August 2009. Same deal. Tore right at the proximal insertion point, at the hip. Honestly, I just took it easy. Trained hamstrings 2x as often as my quad-dominant day was a no-go for about a month. Stay in the gym so long as you can walk OK and use it as an opportunity to bring up some other body parts. After that, I started with bodyweight walking lunges for endurance. Didn’t add weight to a squat bar or to lunges for about another month. But full recovery since then.

I doubt this is a full tear, I just felt a good twinge as I was hauling ass. I could easily walk, but after about 30 minutes, I was slightly limping. I am thinking this is a strain, I highly doubt this is a pull or tear.

I only take cash.

But seriously, this is the advice I have gotten from everyone, including my chiro.

Ice it! I have a quarter of my freezer full of various ice packs which I use on a daily basis.
