Ever Feel Like a Thread Killer? 59

Do you like long walks on the beach?

Do you come here often?

What’s a nice guy like you, doing in a place like this?

Do you like cats?

Do you like gladiator movies?

Have you ever seen a grown man naked?

Where’s the Dr. I he avoiding the questions? 0_o

hahaha, wasn’t dodging the questions, just got back from the gym.

I’m a trader. I usually don’t tell people that, though. I just say I’m in sales. Fastest way to get shot down at a bar (at least in Chicago) is to tell a girl that you’re a trader.

Divorced. Terribly painful experience for me, came out of the blue. But I can look back and say I’m a much better person now than I was then. Ex and I are on great terms, we still try and get in a meal together once a month as a family.

Three kids.

6’, 200lbs, %17 (had a DEXA scan on Jan 15)

Training goal is to get strong. Came from a run, bike, swim background, never set foot in a weight room until 2.5 years ago. When I started lifting, I weighed 165 and my upper arm was 11 3/4". I wish I could say I was joking.

Currently, do a push/pull/legs routine. Stimulate, don’t annihilate is my motto and try to hit body parts twice every 8 days. OHP is my main push and I’m shooting for a BW strict press by the beginning of summer.

I live 2 blocks away from Lake Michigan, so summer plans revolve around being outdoors. In Chicago, you make the most of the nice weather when you have it.

To IH;

yes, yes, no, yes, yes, and for the lulz in no particular order.

And my favorite line from the above clip: “tell your old man to drag Walton and Lanier up and down the court for 48 minutes.”

“Oh stewardess, I speak jive”

That was hilarious!!

Man, I saw Airplane at the movies twice when it came out in '79-'80.

I’m glad you got the reference.

I’m sick. It’s official.

Are you a real doctor, btw? Are you glad Chicago is getting hit with a blizzard late tonight? It was 62 here today. :)[/quote]

I’m looking forward to the blizzard. We’ve gotten off light this year, the temperatures have rarely dipped into the 20s and very little snow. it’s been the mildest winter I can remember in Chicago.

I’m not a real doctor, the name is from a character in Voltaire’s Candide.

geek alert

Gottfried Leibniz was a German philosopher who was trying to answer this question: If God is omnibenevolent, omnipotent and omniscient, how do we account for the suffering and injustice that exist in the world? His answer was to cast God as the role of an optimizer of sorts. Since He is good and omnipotent, and since He chose this world out of all possibilities, this world must be goodâ??in fact, this world is the best of all possible worlds. Later, Voltaire wrote a scathing satire of this idea that we live in the best of all possible worlds, and Dr. Pangloss was the character that embodied this optimistic ideal.

The romantic in me wishes it could be true, the realist (cynic?) in me realizes that it’s not.

Candide was the first marching band show I did in high school.

Had a dream I was playing HS football again. Was pretty trippy. Looking forward to baby Xavier/Pru coming into this world. Just spent part of this afternoon rocking a newborn to sleep. Pretty awesome.
