I have a 3 mile mud-run set up for April. and need to start doing some running. but hate it.

what to do, what to do~
Put off as much running as possible, and just tough it out on race day. That’s what I did for the half marathon I did, and i’m still alive. Did I finish in a fast time? No. Do I care? No.

Ask yourself this…

Why are you doing the mud run?

To finish? EASY

To finish in xx:xx? Well, start running then.

LOL

I’m going for tiny little baby step increments. I ran half a mile this morning and was happy with myself.
You could both quit being pussies and just do it.

No that’s Buddy Christ from the movie Dogma.

So, I went to the ART therapist today. He says most of my problem stems from sitting on my ass with my legs crossed and a computer in my lap. One of my discs is irritated/becoming compressed and pressing down on nerves causing the pain :frowning:

But, he says that he thinks that in four or five treatments I should be much better and that I will get back to working out. He also said that this is very common. I will have to watch my posture in the future. I can’t do any lower body exercises right now.

Anyway, overall, I am in much less pain although my full mobility has not yet returned.

I sitting cross legged? Do you mean like this(pic) or one leg over the other?

^^^
One leg over the other.

I have heard before that it is bad for posture, but is so comfortable (not anymore). Somehow it twists the lower spine or something.

I usually sit like in the pic. So I’m safe.

Well maybe this will get you out of the habit. Well at least you know what the problem is and that it can be fixed and you can get back to lifting eventually. Also that it wasn’t the lifting that did it.
