Thanks IH, they’re amazeballs. Hope everything works out well to where we get to actually adopt them, but if not, they’ll make someone really happy.

That’s awesome news all around, PMPM, so you’re actually having a “Happy” New Year so far! Yay!
When Greeny and I were trying to adopt a cat/kitten, there was a shiton of qualifications that you had to pass before you were considered. I had tried no less than 4 shelters and it was just a monumental pain in the ass.

Is it similar where you’re adopting from?
Yeah, when we picked up Elvis I was practically expecting an in-home inspection to make sure we weren’t using him for science experiments.

Seriously! They would rather those cats be euthanized than go to a good home, I swear! All because I didn’t keep up on Gracie’s shots (rabies, stuff like that) since I don’t think she needs them because she’s an inside cat. We won’t be adopting for another 10 years or so but next time I’ll be sure to get Sonia and Amber updated before we go.

**Sonia climbing on her fave toy…Had to make sure it didn’t show his face…

Hmm…pic didn’t load…

Well, we’re just fostering now (not sure if we’ll adopt them, but maybe) and they’re basically losing their home where they’ve been the last few years. The people came by when they dropped them off to look around, but it wasn’t an issue or anything.

Dogs fit right in, house isn’t filled with filth and clutter, so they let them stay. I know some rescues go through questions/interviews/in-home visits before letting you adopt. From the “pound” though, they don’t care. Rescues, make sure it’s a good home.

How are your girls handling them? How are they handling the girls?

Honestly…amazing. Both ways, amazing. The girls LOVE them, and the dogs seem to love them just the same.

Gettin’ spouse on the workout wagon, I think. And the food. He did an upper body workout on Sunday, and a few minutes of elliptical yesterday, said “holy shit I’m going to die” and I think that was a wake up call for him. I hope. I feel better too, new leaf turned over and shit. I’ve realized I’ve had a lot of anger and resentment that was killing and depressing me and I just kind of let it go. I’ve been so much happier the past few weeks.

In other news, spouse couldn’t sleep this morning and accidentally set off the house alarm at 5:00 am. It’s 120 decibels. I slept through it. I am awesome.
Good. I’m glad, PMPM.

That’s the problem with people who love you. They think that you look good no matter how unflattering the camera angle is.

Weird about the rabies shots, my vet doesn’t recommend them if all animals in the house are inside animals. Never tried to adopt a cat before though, I get mine for free. lol

Cute pic.

Well I think I have found a cardio type goal. The 1 mile timing thing(what’s a good one to shoot for?). Not sure what a good approach to tackling it would be either. Well other than just running a miles and trying to get faster. lol I think we used to have to do those as fitness test things in school.

Efforts today were thwarted by the evil cooties from hell.

I ran walked the 4 times around the track(blah) and when I did my sprints it was half the amount and it felt like I was sprinting though pudding. lol But I like the track and the field so that part was good at least, no kids just people running/walking/doing stairs. Good vibe.

Forgot a pic.

Mares eat oats, and does eat oats.

and little boys eat ivy.

it’s tru - I read it on the interwebz.

Interval training is the way to go. Basically what you are doing. Sprint/Run some Walk/Jog some. It will get easier. You can also vary the interval distance you chose. Shorter distances are good for sprinting.

As far as time goes, what is good really depends on where you are starting from. If you truly are a beginner at running, maybe shoot for a 10 minute mile? Have you timed yourself yet, even if it is a running/jogging/walking mixture. It will give you the base to start from.

Haven’t timed it yet just wanted to get out and try today.

But yeah 10mins sounds like a good time to shoot for(it sounds familiar).

Can you have beginner gains with cardio too?
