I’ve read that deads work roughly 70% of all muscles in the body. Would make sense you’d be hungry today.

I sometimes like to use all the energy I have on drop sets with various deadlift grips.

I feel like hell for days and am extremely ravenous 24/7 afterwards.

With discipline for a strict diet though, I will actually lose fat 1-2% in a week (2 aforementioned training sessions + 2 upper body “push” based on the overhead press and cardio) according to handheld electronic readers.

My apologies for a lack of industry jargon but I’m a casual lifter keeping up a habit developed in sports years ago.

Results derived from personal experience, not sure how typical. And by strict diet I mean berries, oatmeal, turky sausage/spinach/tomato/egg frittata for breakfast, salad with eggs for lunch and dinner, whey protein for a snack and some casein at night.[/quote]

Im usually pretty lit up after deads. I’d believe the 70%.
No need for fancy jargon. I appreciate civilian terms.

I realize I’m preaching to the PT / Coaching choir.

I sometimes do deads this way on tuesday and friday.

I start with an overhand grip with a weight I usually do for 5x5 and do it until failure in one set.

I drop work down roughly 10% at a time to finally bottom out at 50% of the initial weight and then do the same for underhand and then sumo grip.

I call it a day and go cry in a corner.

Monday and Saturday I do a typical upper body push routine, for me anyways. 5x5 on overhead press and bench or incline and 3x12 for lateral raises, weighted dips, tricep extensions et cetera.

Steady state cardio at a slow pace 6 monday through saturday.

It’s a killer week and would be tough to maintain but maybe once every two months it’s fantastic for breaking plateus, cutting fat or just feeling awesome.

No, he’s in the hidden race to 500 thread, and all my challengers need to come in second.

Excellent.

And FYI, you fail reading. I said “her purse”, and no, that wasn’t a euphemism

I also don’t have a nurse injecting something into my IV to make me feel happy…

But the end result should be that you will be stronger than you were before the surgery with all the weak spots in the abdominal wall you had previously.

Keep it up though 2busy, you are a determined person and you will get through this just like all the other injuries you’ve had.

Rest and Time and several Steak injections will have you doing backflips again in no time.
