Have you been truly tested for Mono with Epstein Barr?

You have to wait at minimum of two weeks to test for this, cause you are actually testing for the antibodies that are produced.

I would say no, once the antibodies are produced pretty much makes sure you will not get Mono again anytime soon.

However the damage to your immune system probably sets you up to get secondary infections, both viral and bacterial once you recover from the Mono.

So if you had it say in August and then school starts back in September and then every one is getting the flu and Strep throat you are more susceptible to getting that.
Explains how I got mycoplasma and potentially lyme along with EBV. I’m basically a petri dish right now.
Yea maybe you should stay home for a month and not go out in public.

Lyme can set people up for a lot of shit, I had a few patients who had it and took years to get right again.

Did they do a lyme titer on you?
titer? I dunno but a blood test came back negative… doc said that doesn’t necessarily mean I don’t have it.

I’ve been fatigued for years though, this isn’t new. I first started researching thyroid issues like 4 years ago (since that runs in my family I thought that was the culprit). Staying in for a month won’t do anything.

Supposedly if I have lyme, the meds I’m taking will make me sick (killing it off exacerbates symptoms at first). That sound right?

Lulz this is becoming a Derek Q&A medical thread. I’d send you money to be nice, but, well I don’t have to so I won’t.

I would just send them to Endo or Infectious disease specialist.

Human body is an amazing machine and no way one person can know it all, to many variables.

Anybody that had lyme disease would get routine blood titers to see levels.

Why dont they just do a thyroid nuclear scan on you that will rule out thyroid dysfunction.

Lol no its good for me actually, I do not do real medicine any more. This makes me think and look things up to remind myself.

Well my thyroid labs came back good 2 out of 3 times, never heard of a nuclear scan. I HAVE tested positive for mycoplasma and EBV (either old infection or longtime running infection, not acute). Docs think my cortisol/thyroid is ramping up because of the stress I’m under from a conglomerate of diseases/infections…makes sense to me. High cortisol and free T3.

Sleep number king size bed. Best damn bed ever made. Plenty of room and when your partner moves around on there side you do not feel it.

For all the coffee drinkers complaining about sleep…

Maybe curb your intake in the late afternoon/evening hours. Just saying.

When you get old caffeine doesnt bother you as much.

Most sleep issues are caused by stress of life situations not stimulants.

Then there are those people who just could sleep during a hurricane (I hate those people)
