I read a lot. This ^ my friend may be tied for the coolest thing I’ve read all week. (any week that didn’t have an interview with Tate AND Wendler, and you’d have won by a mile.)
Layoff - bad for my ego, good for my tax return.

LOL! Does the time when a person does their taxes say something about them?

Yeah, typically the size of their net worth. The more investments you have, the longer you normally have to wait to get all your info.
Or how much of a procrastinator (read: pain in my ass) they are.

That’s funny but true. FYI, I already have meh tax money because I just need one W2 and I’m off and running.

Too early to be thinking about St Patty’s?!?!
NEVA!!!
I’d be an April girl if it weren’t for my nagging husband (who can’t seem to do the taxes himself). I get one W-2 and then I have no peace until everything is done. Even while I’m filling things out -
“So how are things looking?”
“We owe $50 grand.”
“WHAT??!!??!!”
“I haven’t put down how much tax we had withheld yet. Leave me the fuck alone.”
“…”

I can accept a tie with those guys. I don’t like it but I’ll accept it.

ha ha, my buddy is buying me a bottle of Jameson and a ribeye for doing his, and my wife’s friends give me like 100 because they think they are so complicated and I work miracles.
Toots: No mortgage interest? Did you remember to take your rental deduction in Mass, and any communing expenses?

I was hoping to skip over that one!! It only leads to disappointment.

Nope, I’m not buying for another couple of years. I took my rental deduction and my drive time to work is only 10 min so I never looked into that.
Well anyone that bought from pretty much 2005-2007 just took it in the pooch anyway, so you should be in good shape.
About 3-9 months from now you should be able to get some killer deals.
Where are you looking to buy? I know some people and places…

I want to move to Fairhaven which is 50 mins away from here and I can’t do it until my kid finishes high school.

It’s funny, I don’t think they are that complicated and I generally understand how things work, but I took a class in law school, and my mom used to do this for a living. And I am by no means an expert, and some things do confuse me (that’s the closest I get to humble, folks). But I’ve seen very smart people totally screw financial things up, so I can’t imagine the stupid people I see in public doing their own taxes. That has to be such a mess.
What’s this about PMPM being married? My world hath no meaning any longer.
A cop came to give me a noise violation last night and he called us all “doom cookies”.
“you bucha doom cookies and you weird lights need to tone it down its the middle of the week for Christ’s sake.but by the look of you his opinion doesnt matter does it, doom cookie?”
I didnt know how to respond except to pretend to cast a spell on him.
