Was pretty cool to see a chick working hard and not just going through the motions.

That’s pretty comical. I mean if you’re going to fuck up, why not make it grand!
3-4 days a week? FML I already don’t like this.
Dead and squat in the same week, but not the same day? FML I can’t recover from that.
Only two bullet points in and I’m already changing shit, lol. This is why I have never “done a program” before.

What do you normally do? Do you squat and dead on the same day?

LOL. I found 5/3/1 to be a good book to flick through then zero in on sections of interest to you. You’re pretty clued up on programming but hopefully books like 5/3/1 give you just a little bit more information, insight or a method to help your training. I downloaded the PDF version so I keep a copy on my phone and read it when I’m traveling or at home.
How often do you train now Beans? 3-4 days is low for you?

I don’t deadlift very often anymore. I just don’t give a fuck about it, and to be honest, I don’t need my erectors any bigger than they are at the moment.
Don’t get me wrong, I love the lift, I’m built for it, and it put a serious amount of mass on me. But it just doesn’t fit in with what I’m looking to do right now.
But if I do pull, it has to be on the same day I squat or I’m shit for the rest fo the week trying to recover from both.

I don’t deadlift anymore either. I was thinking of trying a 1RM just out of curiosity since doing a lot of squats and clean jerks to see how it’s doing.

As many days as my life allows really.
I’m just not into regimented shit, because plans always change.

I’m pretty sure I can pull 495 any day of the week, at teh very least 455.
My squat doesn’t seem to tail off too hard either.
Now if I could just get my OHP to not drop 10lbs per every lb I lose then I’d be in business.
You don’t do set programs either?

I think you could just look into the rep ranges (5/3/1) and vary it accordingly through your program. I know guys who follow 5/3/1 for their squats and deadlifts but don’t bench at all. Bascially just pick and choose what you like. IIRC MODOK has used 5/3/1 for deadlifts (I think) but not the other lifts (I think it’s either in his “how do you train” or “bodypart twice weekly” threads). Sorry don’t mean to make this about training…but like you said earlier (and Deb) we think about it all the time… lol ![]()

No. I just make it up. Programs usually don’t do as much as I want to do
Right now it’s 95% snatch, clean &jerk and squats so I don’t really need a program for that.

Funny, my life is like 5% snatch and 95% Jerk and Clean these days…

You really can’t recover from that? How’s the session set up? I haven’t read it but isn’t it just cycles of 5 3 and single reps?
How many reps and sets of squats and deads?
