I think once FB has notification and verification of the death, they leave them up in an archive format. I’m not sure for how long.
I used to process the death certificates to close out cellphone accounts. It was pretty depressing, especially when the loved ones would want to save the deceased person’s recorded voicemail messages and stuff.
