Hungry, the sports bra, with its straps over my traps, hurt SO bad. After I finished, I switched into a regular bra I had in my car so I could get the straps off the scrapes. Next time I think I will do the yoke walk without a bra or something, the worst scrapes are from where the bra straps were.
This wasn’t the first time I was grateful to have, basically, an entire closet in my car. :)
Okay serious question PMPM how much was on the Yoke? I have one now and have done it a couple of times. Just doing 250 lbs now to get the feeling down and how to carry it high.
350 or 360, I forget. I had never used one before, and the scrapes were from me losing it down my back. It would’ve been okay had I known how to keep a tight trap shelf and still have my arms spread out to hold the legs, but I didn’t figure that out until I was 2/3 done.

I started light cause I have this nightmare of me doing this at 4:30 in the morning and falling forward and crushing my skull like a coconut. Talking to guys in the strongman section you have to carry it really high on your traps.
How far did you have to walk? I know the first time I did it I got under like I do on squat, after about 40 feet it was sliding down my back. I had decided to leave my bra off when I work out.
Sigh - one of my cats (who’s recently been unwell) was playing with something in the hallway. Happy she is obviously better and seems alert and her normal self - I went through to give her a cuddle, only to find she’s been playing with a hard jobby.
So I was doing biceps this morning, feeling good, motivated, iPod blasting, it’s all gravy.
After I do a set of curls, I do a double biceps pose in the mirror, then look over and see Albert Beckles staring at me with a WTF kind of look on his face. I felt like a tool, but he glanced back at me, gave me a wink. I am guessing it was out of sympathy when he saw how embarrassed I was.

I’ve been re-reading a book on Robert the Bruce, and the history of the Templars.
now a tour of Scotland is in my future.
Oh, and no offense Deej~ Cowboys suck.
Non taken, so do the Vikings.
My great grandmother who is still alive and kicing has done a geneology book and states we are decendants of the Bruce clan. Now dont know how accurate that is but I too am interested in a trip to Scotland.

where in Scotland are you Stern?
Glasgow mate, but bred in Dallas :)
Okay Stern how did that happen? Please at least tell me you are a Cowboys fan?
Mother was a Scot and my father was an American sailor stationed at Dunoon in the early 70’s. One thing led to another, then that thing fell apart, and here I am. =D
I actually wasn’t big on sport when I was growing up as my father didn’t really pay much attention to it. Spent most my time out skateboarding or inside drawing Frazetta pictures lol.
Man, every time I venture into the beginners forum and let myself be goaded into helping someone out, I regret it.
It’s amusing to see what a little cult following of people with absolute conviction certain methods and things have there… Methods that no one outside of horribly inexperienced people believe… Methods that stick around because every beginner reads about them in articles (from “buy my book” guys) or tells other beginners about.
That sub-forum needs some real spring cleaning… I feel bad about the new guys joining here.

Interesting that you have some royal blood in you. when are you planning on travelling to scotland? are you interested in seeing where they placed Bruces heart?

No worries. How long were you in Texas? How long you been in Scotland?
How long did it take you to adjust to the culture?

Indeed I have mate, my cousin currently stays and works in Perth and I’ve visited him a couple of times for a booze up. Really, there’s not much to it compared to the Big Smoke, but picturesque all the same! ^^
I’m sure any trip through Scotland would eventually take you through it as it’s quite a central hub for traffic.

Yeah you wouldnt know it but all that thins with time and inbreeding.
I actually would love to make a trip in the next 5 years. Just want it to be me and the wife, have three years and the youngest graduates HS. Have to wait until then. Not safe to leave teenagers out of their chains.
