I like you, Greeny. I think I can see a bit of what IH sees. There’s a bit of innocence, for lack of a better word, that shows in your words. Now for your questions.
The DADT thing is a class I’m to give to my coworkers, informing them of the changes to it, and what the procedure is. I don’t care what the person standing beside me prefers in that regard. There are worse things out there than gay folk. However, that is just me. There are other opinions running about, unfortunately. The gay men is a bigger issue than women simply because we have a tendency to be ruled by ego and pride.
For the uninformed, this is not good. Leads to very bad things. Things like what happened at Fort Campbell many years ago. Now, for a man comfortable in his own skin, not ruled by the ego or pride or whatever other “manly” ideals, getting hit upon by a gay man is no big deal at all. Flattering on some occasions, but for all intents and purposes for this site, we’ll stick with “no big deal.”

It’s not innocence, it’s just the lack of comprehending why homosexuality is a big deal. I could care less. Whether you like men or women does not have anything to do with your ability to shoot a weapon. Now, it might, depending on your body type, affect your ability to make it through an obstacle course or grueling PT or whatever. But that’s just your body type, not your sexuality.

I pulled 140s today on my DL and I felt pretty strong. That’s 5 lbs up from last week. I’m moving toward that 200! Trav I’d think PI work could be pretty interesting.

It was awesome! We learned to deal and call the game! The last 90 minutes or so was all about practicing and no one wanted to practice dealing (!!!) so this chick, Diane, and I just alternated. We were both like “if no one else wants to…” totally giving the others the option but no one wanted to. We were like “we could do this all day…”. This one lady is obsesses with blackjack though. She talks about it, wants to deal it, wants to play it, keeps referencing it instead of concentrating on the rules of baccarat. It’s starting to get very annoying. I just want to shout “THIS IS NOT BLACKJACK!!!” I have a feeling she might not last…

Well good for you and Diane for jumping right in there. The others must have been afraid. Better to practice during training than fail at the real thing.
I ate big last night and it definitely carried over to my pressing workout today- YAY! Plus I started my sets heavier and used smaller progressions, to hit 285x3- a pr for this time around. I lost all my lifts on the mission, by more than a hundred pounds a piece. I hope I can come back to my 405 bench, 655 dl, and 545 squat. Oh well.
Also, working at chick-fil-a is hard, but all I can think is that I’m saving money towards a ring. I already know how I’m going to ask her officially, too. There’s a standup group at BYU that I’m going to try out for (basically guaranteed an in), so at some show next semester my last joke will be about terrible marriage proposal ideas (I have quite a few) and I’ll end with “But the worst possible way I could imagine proposing to someone would be like this: “Marianne! Will you marry me?””

So get this:
Skinny newb at the gym. Kid seems to be losing the chip on his shoulder, and has been pretty consistent. He just hasn’t figured out the “eat more food” part… Anywho.
He sets up to do shrugs the same time I am, and I almost felt bad. I mean I warm up with 405, and he had 155 on there.
So to my surprise, between sets he asked my about straps and how they compare to gloves, how I like the straps, and how the knurling bothers him and he can’t grip as much as he can shrug.
Now I always have at least one if not 2 extra sets of straps with me, because I buy teh cotton ones, and they rip pretty quick when your weights move up. So I went in my bad and gave him one of my pairs. He seemed pretty happy.
So after the next set, he was pretty embarrassed to ask, but asked me how they worked, lol. So I showed him, warned him about how his wrists might look like he got tied up by a dominatrix the next day, to which he didn’t see the same amount of humor in as I did…
I also continued to, and have consistently said hello to the big kid. He has been coming in and trying hard. I’m so flippin happy for him.
I’m not trying to brag or earn brownie points, just no one else is going to understand lol…
