Kick Ass - Super entertaining popcorn flick. Crazy stupid and hilarious. Great cast, even Nic Cage’s over-the-topness fit perfectly with his role. I give it a 9/10 because I literally LOLed at least 9 times. Haven’t had that much fun watching a movie in a long time.
They are making a kickass 2 eh?
Heres one. The Barbarians. Pretty ridiculous. I still enjoyed it.

Cloud Atlas - took a bit for me to warm up to the characters but in the end I really enjoyed the movie. You have to be patient though and not expect a really fast pace or a ton of action.

I rather like slow-paced surrealist flicks. I like getting lost in the concept, and the longer, the better.
I hope to see that one when I get a chance.
I asked James to post this cause like you ID I enjoy this type of movie at times also (I like watching certain movies when I am in certain moods). I wanted some opinions on it and I also would like to know whats Roy’s opinion is specifically.
Abraham Lincoln vampire hunter I didn’t hate it, better than what the critics said but still I would have wanted more vampire hunting.
Deadheads, low budget zomcom, decent film. Two self aware zombies take to the road with their “pet” zombie cheese trying to find the girl one of tye zombies was going to marry the day he was killed, while avoiding the military and other zombies.

Haven’t seen it yet but Hugo Weaving playing multiple roles is enough incentive for me.
Saw it today since I was off. Highly recommended. It’s very good, and not as predictable as you might think. Don Cheadle is exceptional. It’s powerful if you ever had loved ones (or yourself) struggle with alcohol or drug dependancy.
I had to see what all this hype over the Paranormal movies was about. I heard the second one was the best. Watched Paranormal Activity 2. Fucking shitty waste of time. Whoever keeps making these movies needs a toaster inserted in their pee hole.
Skyfall - Not as good as I was hoping. There was a complete lack of character development for both the villain (who wasn’t very believable) and the Bond girl. Typically the viewer has some connection to both but there was nothing at all in this one. I also hated the overt homage to the past and the lack of any gadgets. The whole point of Q is that he provides cool toys but there was nothing in this movie. I could go on but not without giving away parts of the story. This is a rental at best.
Flight - This was a decent story but predictable. The nude scene at the beginning with Nadine Velazquez was outstanding and the crash sequence was cool. It was entertaining but not sure that it was worth paying full movie price for.
Outrage - Saw this Japanese movie about the Yakuza last night. It was entertaining and the acting was good. It’s got a LOT of violence in it though so you have to be in the mood for that.
Managed to crawl out from under a rock long enough to see Skyfall yesterday.
Don’t care to pick this apart too much. 2012 is the 50th anniversary of Bond’s big screen debut and Skyfall is basically a retrospective of Bond movie history.
It’s entertaining enough to play “spot the reference”. Unfortunately, the celebrations undermine everything that was great about Casino Royale.
By referencing the previous movies, Bond is slipping back into his old ways. Like being saddled with a flamboyant villain who jars with Craig’s serious take on Bond (Bardem’s Silva is only effective in two scenes, the rest of the time he is flanked by unmemorable henchmen, and the Spanish actor playing a camp, big haired villain with a Moby Dick complex was done before and done better by Ricardo Montalban in Wrath of Khan…
Anton Chigurh vs. Bond, though? Now we’re talking)…
Weirdly, it’s also a partial reboot as well as a tribute to Bond’s past, but 'nuff said about that…
Better than Quantum of Solace and most of the Brosnan movies, but inferior to Casino Royale. This would’ve worked better during Brosnan’s tenure as Bond.
