Mad Max Fury Road–wow. Excellent movie. I’ll go so far and say I actually liked it BETTER than the original.
This movie shit all over that pile o’ crap The Avengers. [/quote]
Here is a nice read on the movie and the Franchise as a whole. It talks about the stunts and everything else in between.
I read that there wasn’t very much Max in the movie and it was more about Charlize Theron, anyone confirm?

He was in it just as much as her. Who cares that a badass woman like Charlize Theron was just as important in the movie as was Hardy as Max? I can’t believe people are really complaining about that. Get a life.
On another note, anybody realize the main bad guy Immortan Joe(the guy with the bane like mask), was Toe Cutter from the very first Mad Max? I didn’t realize until i looked up the credits. Pretty cool.

Yup. In addition, Charlize Theron’s character is closer to Urma Thurman’s in Kill Bill than Kate Bekinsale’s in Underworld. She bleeds, gets her ass kicked, cries, gets freaked out and doesn’t somehow possess superior physical strength than the bigger, muscular males. And there were no gratuitous penis jokes just to get the female crowd cheering.
150% if you have 2 working testicles you need to see mad max fucking ballx out awsome…WE RIDE TO VALHALLA! !

Very cool. Played his part to a tee in Fury Road.

Yea when I looked that up thought it was really cool.
Awesome movie, will purchase when it is out and I hope they at least do a few more.

I actually liked that the film focuses so much on people other than Max. It makes the world feel alive and actually real. Max is much a passenger in the world he lives in as the rest of us. He’s not special or anything.
And, imo, it allows him to have some great moments.
I loved Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron’s performances in this film.
so is the new Mad Max actually good, then? I’m instinctively distrustful of remakes…

Well technically it’s not a remake since it takes place afterwards and is shot by the same director.

It’s not just good. It’s fucking stupendously, breathtakingly, “Kinji Fukasaku on meth” good.
Nice thread going here!
Checked pitch perfect 2 and 1. In that order. Part 2 in the cinema’s, and watched part 1 later at home.
My friend wanted to go to Fast and Furious, but we tossed about it. I won.
I could pretend I like macho movies, but I was in for a laugh and some singing action.
Part 2 wasnt bad:, the songs got me pretty stoked by times. Plot was a bit forced and characters quite random.
Part 1 was awesome, the songs got me even far more stoked, the plot felt natural. Characters had quite better chemistry.
Anna Kendrick and Brittany Snow are pretty hot. Kendrick got me working a bit of a crush in the end. Her character is adorable: understandable, troubled but finding her feet.
I came across gay probably. Give it a chance tho, even if you wont admitt it. Good chance you’ll have a ball:)
Just saw Mad Max, if you don’t feel your T-juices flowing from your balls watching this then you are officially dead.
I must be the only one here that didn’t love Fury Road. I thought it was good, but nothing to go crazy about.

I agree with you. I think people like it so much largely because it’s been so long since an action movie actually showcased great set pieces and action sequences that didn’t rely entirely on CGI. That fact alone makes it stand out in today’s era of action movies. Hopefully the film does great.
“Stripped”
A fantastic documentary about comic artists past and present, and how the genre and business of comic strips is evolving with the times.
Great interviews with past and present artists.
