Evan's Training

Are you still pulse feasting?[/quote]

I am not. I am doing a form of intermittent fasting though. I have my first meal usually around 11, second around 2, train at 5-6ish, and then have a post-workout meal which is usually the largest of the day.

Nice! I’m excited to try out IF for myself! I’m a fan of bulking, but sometimes food prep gets in the way of life lol!

I was thinking about dieting the other day, and realized that if you’re going to eat 2,500 kcals in a day (a very low number after bulking haha) and you spread that out over 5-6 meals it’s like torture. You’re NEVER full or even satisfied. But if you pulse all day, have a moderate peri-drink, then you can eat till you’re good and done and still make your numbers. PLUS, I don’t know about you, but when I pulse CHY products, I feel euphoric and pumped full of energy…

But for now, I’m in gaining mode. I’m going to break 200 before I even think about dieting/recomping a bit! Great work man, looking awesome, and you’ve even captured the eye of Meadows! You’ve beat the game!

Here are my macros for today:

Protein: 320.8 grams protein, Fat: 91.3 grams, Carbohydrates: 70.3 grams, Calories: 2,531

Oh look everyone, ebomb is being perfect again.

smh.

Perfect life

2.24.11

Incline Dumbbell Press
30 x 20, 50 x 15, 75 x 8, 100 x 8, 125 x 8, 130 x 8, 8 (nice, deep reps)

Decline Smith Press (3/4 lockout, nonstop reps)
185 x 25, 205 x 20, 225 x 11, 245 x 8 to 195 x failure to 95 x failure (ultra-wide grip)

Hammer Strength Flat Press (2 seconds hold at stretch, 3/4 lockout, nonstop)
1 pps x 10, 10, 10, 10

Feet Elevated Stretch Pushups
2 sets to failure

Over and Back Barbell Press
85 x 12, 65 x 12, 12, 12

Bentover Dumbbell Laterals (very strict, flex as hard as possible at top, nonstop)
20 x 12, 12, 12, 12

6 Ways
5 x 10, 10

Today was a great overall chest/shoulder day. The incline presses felt great, despite the fact that I realized that I was pressing a 130 and 135. 2 x 8 was awesome for that weight, especially since form was good and bodyweight is at 214. Pump
In chest was amazing and shoulders felt strong too. I didn’t rest any more than 60 seconds on anything, with 30-45 being the norm.

Here are the macros for the day:

Protein: 267.8 grams, Carbohydrates: 182.8, Fat: 75.2 grams, Calories: 2,577

I have lowered my protein intake slightly so I can take in more carbs around the workout while still reaching the same caloric level.

Here is an updated back shot. If you look at previous pics, I think I have made some progress in back width, which I have been working on.

Evan, I’m envious of your development…Looking great! You look like you’re 3-4 weeks out! Super lean, and if I’m not mistaken you’re still hitting PR’s routinely while dropping weight? You’re looking ripped up from the tips up!

I see that you’re eating 3 meals a day now, are you pulsing in between? Also, I’ve heard people say that a pulse feast type thing wouldn’t really be optimal to a contest diet. Why not? I get that a traditional contest diet works fine, but it’s just so much easier to do the pulse feast, especially when your daily caloric intake is so low…

Your workouts are killer my brother. Solid numbers all the time, those incline bells are impressive.

Evan, you’re a goddamn beast (and inspirational). Looking thick as hell and still hitting crazy weights on very low cals. Beast mode for sure. 1.21x bodyweight on incline dbs for eight reps.

BTW, are those your Lucky Charms in the background? How do you diet with LC’s around lol!

seriously good job dude, that is the best back shot I’ve seen of you to date.

Sick back shot!

Wow. Just wow.

@ HISS: Thanks man, appreciate the compliments, but I am nowhere near 3-4 weeks out lean :-P. I have been hitting PRs, including the deadlift and other back execises, and these Dumbbell presses were somewhat of a PR. And yes, those are the remnants of a jumbo box of Lucky Charms that I nearly finished on my Carb-Up day last Sunday.

@ Austin: Thanks brotha, always appreciate your comments!

@ Blaze: Thanks man! So far, the lower calories approach hasn’t really affected my strength as I thought it would.

@ Bug: Thanks bro, I think so too. I was really excited about it because width, as you know, has been a weak spot for me. I finally think I’m getting it down : ).

@ Ponce and Xander: Thanks for the comments guys!

2.25.11

AM:
40 Minutes Medium Intensity Eliptical Cardio

2.25.11

Dante Rows (very strict)
2 pps + 25 x 8, 2 pps x 8, 8, 8

DY Rows (single arm, stretch as far as possible at end)
3 pps x 8, 8, 8 LR

Stretchers
135 x 12, 150 x 12

Partial Pulldowns
210 x 8, 8

Behind The Back Smith Shrugs (3 second hold at top)
225 x 12, 12, 12

Back Extension Machine (flex as hard as possible)
100 x 50 reps
150 x 25, 25

Seated Calf Raise (5 second negative, nonstop reps)
3 plates for 4 sets of 10 and 4 plates for 4 sets of 10 done in place of rest.

Really solid back day with a ton of volume. I really like the Dante Rows, but it is necessary that you have great form and use little momentum since it’s easy to lose the mind muscle connection. Stretchers and partial Pulldowns felt awesome, I really am enjoying the emphasis on stretching. The smith behind the back shrugs with the 3 second holds destroyed my upper back/traps, and I had the sickest low back pump following the extensions.

Here is a video of the stretchers
