i’m new posting here and i’m just going around checking out peoples logs. your training looks really solid. our lifts are similar (although it seems like you’ve got a little bit on me) are essentially the same body weight. this is definitely a log i’ll be watching.[/quote]

Thanks man! Good to have ya here.

3.13.10

Incline Bench Press
135 x 8, 185 x 8, 225 x 8

KB SwingsÂ
35 lb x 200 reps

Curls
50 x 8, 60 x 8, 8

Today just a little conditioning with the kettlebell work, some very light chest work and some curls for girls. BW at 213 today, might cut to under 200 for my strongman competition.

Real strong stuff in here, great work Evan!

Thanks man! I’m really pushing the workouts lately and it’s paying off big time.

3.15.10

Straight Bar Deadlift
135 x 2, 225 x 2, 315 x 2, 405 x 1
500 x 1
615 x 1 (PR, had more in me)

Walking Dumbbell Lunges (no straps)
100 x gym length and back
110 x gym length and back

Glute Ham Raise
BW x 12, 12, 12

Today was an absolutely awesome workout and the intensity was really high. The 615 pull was a PR and it was pretty easy for a 1 rep max attempt. I definitely had at least 15 and maybe 30 more pounds in the tank. The walking lunges were brutal, especially since they were strapless. I am only going to use straps on very heavy Kroc Rows. Overall, I am extremely happy with the intensity level lately and will keep it up.

615, jesus. You’re close to 3xBW aren’t you? Keep killin’ it man.

Haha ya man, my bodyweight is around 213 -220 depending on the day so a 3 x BW is possible. If I cut down to 200, I can pretty much guarantee 3 x BW, but I don’t want to do that, rather pull 660 to silence any dispute haha.

Seeing logs like this makes me feel shit lol, but gives me the motivation to get stronger. Better judging
yourself on people who are superior to the average person than taking a look outside your window and seeing
shit.

3.16.10

Log Press (very light)
LOG (95 or 100 lb) x 2, 145 x 2, 195 x 1

Seated Machine Press (simulates viking press minus leg drive)
100 x 5, 150 x 5, 200 x 5, 230 x 5, 250 x 5
Fat Dumbbell Press (just messing around)
50 x 5 LR, 70 x 5 LR

Neutral Grip Chins (none to failure)
45 x 5, 70 x 5, 45 x 10, 10, BW x 20

Dumbbell Shrugs (no straps)
110 x 20, 130 x 20

Hammer Curls/Barbell Curls/Fat Cable Curls
45 x 8/95 x 8/100 x 12
50 x 8/115 x 8/110 x 10

Fat Cable Pushdowns
200 x 20, 200 x 20, 210 x 20, 220 x 20

Today was a pretty awesome heavy upper body day. Since at my competition, none of the upper body lifts will be a max, I am gradually moving away from the 1-3 rep range on overhead movements and moving more towards the 5 rep range for my max effort movement. The machine press is exactly like the viking press, with the weight distributed at the bottom. I believe the weight I will be pressing in competition is 210 (for the 176-200 lb class) and it would have been 230 for the 201-231 lb class, so I’m doing pretty well for that I think.

Haha, thanks man, but don’t feel like crap. It’s all about hard work and consistency. Eating the right foods day in and day out and training with unrivaled intensity. I can deal with someone being stronger than me, but not someone who works harder than me. Always be the hardest worker out there, you’ll never lose if you are.

Evan thats simple but yet great advice. Brings back home why weight train. Same as in all the serious stuff we do in everyday life. I will be watching your log. Thanks.

Can’t wait to be able to post, slapped 6 plates a 10 and a 5 on each side, then pulled it and it was easy. Awesome!

I want to train with you. Hopefully neither of us would die.

3.21.10

EVENTS
Farmers Walk (100 feet, turn at 50)
225, 275, 350 (only did half)

Gigantic Dumbbell C + P, 3 inch handles
150 lb DB x 1, 1
170 lb x fail

Prowler Push/Tire Flips (700 lb)
2 35s x 200 feet/5 flips
4 35s x 200 feet/5 flips
6 35s x 200 feet/5 flips
8 35s x didnt get that far

Atlas Stones (did medley first)
175 to 60 inch platform, 220 to 60 inch
Singles at 250, did 4
Failed at 275, almost had it, getting form down.

For my first day ever doing strongman events, it went really well in my opinion. The farmers walks went really well, I hit 350 pounds for just under 50 feet which felt awesome, just need to work on my grip because thats what failed. The giant dumbbell was absurd, and thatâ??s all I can say about that. The prowler/tire was a terrible medley, and the stones felt good, I just need to work on my form.

Just wanted to post my current training template. It has changed slightly because of events on Sunday.

Monday:
Arms

Tuesday: Upper 1:
Hang Clean (regular barbell)
Log Press, Axle Press
Incline Bench Press
Chins
Shrug Variation

Wednesday: Lower 2
Dumbbell Snatch
Squat or Deadlift Variation
Squat for reps, lunge, GM
G/H Raise

Thursday:
Core Movements, Biceps

Friday: Upper 2
Strict Press
Close Grip Incline Press
H/S Row Machine
Shrug Variation
Grip Work

Saturday:
Rest

Sunday:
Event Day

You all are more than welcome to laugh at the arm day on Monday. I like my arms, functional or not hah.
