Enough Protein Post-Workout?

I take a shake with me to the gym. After an intense workout i drink my shake (36grams) + i take creatine. I walk home from the gym which takes about 20 minutes…then I cook my dinner which is chicken, lean sirloin, or ground beef…around 40 grams of protein. Basically am I getting enough protein in the 1 hour frame?

So you are getting 76 grams together? I would say if thats the case thats more than plenty and maybe more than you actually need.

You need to be worried about taking in carbs moreso than protein PWO. Carbs provide your body with energy and prevent muscle breakdown for fuel purposes.

With that…yeah, 80g in one hour is ridiculous. Consider subbing in some carbs.

see if u can’t spread that 80g out over two hours… first hour is whey shake (36g) or some other fast absorbing protein

eat chicken 60 mins after workout

also like others have said make sure ur getting adequate carbs during this period a good ratio is 2:1 carbs:protein

so think 72 grams carbs, 36 gram protein… if u can try to take dextrose and maltodextrin

malto can be found in powerade…not gatorade though… or maybe try adding honey to ur PWO shake

just take Surge mate… takes the thinking out of it all and its tasty as hell
