Doesn’t look like my brother took any pix of the planetary alignment. Still, here’s something I stumbled upon, which is close enough:
Hey don’t we have a T-Nationer who claims to be Jesus?
Maybe he’s going to come back and start posting again?
Earthquake hits New Zealand:
Um…hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou amongst women etc etc
Latest earthquake news from around the globe:
Hold on. It’s still May 21 here!

I sorta mixed up the definitions.
If you reject all super natural claims but do not necessarily make the positive claim that gods definitely do not exist you are still an atheist.
You don’t believe in a god, but you don’t deny one exists.
A little late to the discussion, but I saw this a feel the need to clarify.
Theist is a belief in a specific god as dictated by a particular creed.
Deist is a belief in a god NOT dictated by a particular creed.
Pantheist is a belief in multiple gods.
Atheist is a lack of belief in a god or gods.
Agnostic doesn’t refer to anything more than a declaration of no knowledge, and conversely gnostic refers to a declaration of knowledge. This doesn’t apply solely to religion and spirituality.
An agnostic would be either an agnostic deist/theist/pantheist (doesn’t know for sure a god or gods exist, but believes so) or an agnostic atheist (doesn’t know for sure if a god or gods exist, but sees no evidence or reason to believe one does)
There are also Religious Dyslexics into Beastiality, who have formed a society with the moto…
“in dog we thrust”
BTW Pantheism is not a belief in multiple gods, it is a belief that god is in everything, that the the universe and god are synonymous.
Pantheists thus do not believe in a personal, interventionist, anthropomorphic or creator god.
Beethoven was a Pantheist (not an ideological one). Listen to the sixth sympony which is said to be very pantheistic.

I don’t think that’s the case. I think that these are the kinds of people (the kooks) that give religions a bad name, because they are exploiting peoples beliefs and (most likely) profiting from their efforts.
What annoys me is how many people get away with this, and how many people fall prey to it.
LOL at what you think gives religions a bad name.

That article makes a good point.
The guy that said the Rapture would come can now say it didn’t happen thanks to the devoutness of his church and the people that believed.
Did you guys ever see the 1988 Demi Moore movie The Seventh Sign? It’s really good and is a big biblical epic about the end of the world…but it doesn’t happen because of the good deeds of Demi Moore’s character…sort of a cop out, but still a good movie.
It even has Jesus coming back in the form he’s said to take in Revelation, which is no longer that of the lamb, but of the lion Meaning Jesus is the one who walks the earth breaking the seven seals heralding the end of days.

Well obviously there’s a lot more to it, but that’s certainly a part of it no matter how small.
All those faith-healers are just a joke that make millions off of stupid people.

Didn’t read the whole thread but just some clarification. The belief of a Judgment Day is standard in Christianity. However the Bible specifically states that we humans will never be able to predict when Jesus returns. A scripture along the lines of ‘Jesus will return like a thief in the night…’
This is correct.
Christ himself, speaking of His return, said, “But of that day and hour knows no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.”

In fairness, can we apply your Constitutional standard of plain meaning review to the above?
Allow me to translate…
“but of that day and hour knows no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but me the Father, not me the Son, knows only”

the fact is they predict a world wide rolling earth quake. since the beginning of time, nothing like that has ever occured. i simply don’t believe its possible. there are so many variables with earth quakes. saying a world wide earth quake will happen is just plain stupid. things like fault lines and such all have to be taken into consideration. what about places that don’t have fault lines. i simply don’t beleive that type of earth quake is even possible.
Preaching to the choir there?
I think it’s safe to say that yesterday’s prediction was a bust
My friends text to me yesterday… “@)(&$_#(@#@Y_RAPTURE#&)(@*&@!@()(*)_++” I almost believed him
