This is the dumbest shit I’ve read on here this month, by far…
Here, that should help clear up your ignorance.

I actually quite like the new album, I’ve spent more time listening to this album than any of his other albums excluding the marshall mathers lp.
When an artist keeps doing the same thing over and over, his critics say he hasn’t evolved.
When an artist changes and grows from his initial vision, he’s called a sell-out.

Exactly. Haters gonna hate, no matter what.

Well, I think we established a long time ago that you have the musical tastes of someone with no rhythm.
Yeah…that many cds sold over a decade must mean he sucks at all things audio.
Where are the other famous white rappers? The ones that aren’t one hit wonders I mean.
Race may have helped him significantly after he hit big [by his second album more specifically], but it was a big disadvantage up until he was famous AND respected.
You can talk about how being white helped, but it makes no sense in a genre that involves selling ‘blackness’, however skewed the representation of ‘blackness’ is in some cases ← I trust people will get what I meant by that statement.
Being white hurt Em more than helped him overall.
I’m not a big fan of the new album, either.
On the good side, his punchlines, flow, rhymes, and all are about as good as they have always been.
But the beat selections, actual content and concept of the songs are bland aside from maybe 3 songs. I mean the beats are REALLY bad. I’m not expecting Em to flow over the trendiest beats, he’s not Lil Wayne or Drake or anything. But I was hoping for some production like Forever or Drop the World. Especially since he was working with Just Blaze, DJ Khalil, Havoc, Alchemist-- all of those guys are underrated producers who’s styles match Em’s perfectly.
I can’t blame Em for switching his subject matter since he just isn’t the controversial figure he was and should still complain about that. And he’s forgotten the real reason his horrorporn raps were funny when he first hit so he had to tone it down like he did on this album.
The songs he wrote for Recovery aren’t bad but they’re just not as clever as the ones he did on The Marshal Mathers LP. On the MM LP even the x-rated joke songs were laced with some sharp commentary on censorship and the way he was perceived by the non-music media. The whole Slim Shady-Marshal Mathers dynamic he had on his first two LP [and a bit on his third] was genius.
It was an alright album. But Em’s first two albums were classics and his third was close to classic.
Love his new album. He’s broken free of the illuminati.
HAHAHAHA sorry been watching too much farhan khan on youtube.
Seriously though. New album is bomb.

I lost some faith in his music until his recent album… even he admits the last 2 were crap.
His new album may be his best work yet, and regardless, the guy has a ton of talent. One of the best ever.
I thought everything after The Eminem Show sucked until my girlfriend got me to listen to his new album and I think it’s as good as his first 3 albums.
Eminem is the best lyricist of all time. His rhyme schemes and content are on another level.
As for his new stuff being different, the man is 38 years old. He can’t do the adolsecent Slim Shady persona anymore at his age. The new album took a few listens to really grow on me, but now I like it as much or more than his first three.
Listen to space bound and tell me he sucks.

Seriously he’s a guy who made a career about how angsty and misunderstood he is and how he hates women, is now making songs with Rhianna what a sell out and a hack. Eminem is the anti-T man.
x2
Can’t stand him at all.
He is the most overrated rapper ever IMHO.

?
I listened to No love…and tripped out at the flow Eminem had. he made Lil Wayne sound retarded on that track. If you think I am listening to that in the car or in my headphones because he’s white than you are seriously fucked in the head.
Him being a white rapper may have made people take notice in the first place several years ago…but that was mostly because I am sure most expected him to suck. He would have been laughed off stage if he had been like Vanilla Ice (you know, the first white guy people paid attention to who became a fucking joke).
No artist lasts this long because of a gimmick…especially when they redefine themselves and people take even more notice.
You clearly don’t know what you are talking about.
My guess is also that what you think you know is based off of radio tracks.
For Real! Lil Wayne wasn’t bad on that track either! Dude…another great example is Drop the World.
That Rhianna em song blows…I like the album and then it got old quick. I really don’t like em.

I agree, and so do the millions that buy his music. OP is a retard.

every artist that sells millions is good?
does that include Britney spears and Fabolous and backstreet boys? The fact is his lyrics are trite and the new CD appeals more to the girl pop crowd.

??
uh, yeah, like me and my friends. We are so “girl pop” it isn’t funny.
Question, how many people saying he sucks are actual TRUE fans of hip hop?
In fact, if you are under the age of 20, you were a fucking child when he first came out so no one really cares what you think of his first albums especially in retrospect.
It’s one thing to not like him or his content, but to say he isn’t one of the most talented lyricists to EVER be commercial is being a dishonest ass. (I’m NOT saying he is the best, so don’t get butthurt and list 36 guys you think are better. He is fucking good, get over it.)
Also, pretty sure montez just yesterday learned what trite means.

No I did not just learn what trite means. My point is that Eminem’s new CD is a desperate attempt to make money after years of lackluster CDs. I was a fan for a long time but this new shit sucks.

No…if you’re 19 or 20 and a fan of rap there’s a pretty big chance that Eminem was your first favourite rapper. I’m 20, and by fourth and fifth grade pretty much every guy was an Eminem fan.
And most kids had a good grasp of what he was saying, too. He’s a great writer but a pretty straight foreword one, his lyrics weren’t going over anyone’s heads.
