Commitment.

You know how many people have been in that house before him? Tens, maybe hundreds. Its no coincidence “house” and “home” both start with “ho”.

This is when you have trees, brushes, vines and root vegetables all in one place, so that they produce food.

Basically takes care of itself once started.

I just do not want to buy a house to do it, so that I could have a garden, maybe I can rent a place longterm.[/quote]

I think that’s an excellent idea and you should do it right away. I’ve always sensed a sustainable-living energy in your posts.

The tractor. . . have I mentioned his excavator? He doesn’t keep it here at home. I was supposed to learn how to use it this summer, but we haven’t gotten to it yet, and I doubt we will. I’m supposed to practice by loading gravel into the dump truck.

Anyway, he’s completely awesome and filled with awesomeness in a dreamy sort of way. Super dreamy, in fact.

Funny, but no.

Maybe I am seeing that all wrong, I do not need a house for a garden.

I should be able to get an acre for dirt cheap.

Not dirt cheap, at least 10000 for a hectar, that is like 3000 and something for an acre…

It just ocurred to me that in America that is rather unlikely.

In Austria, could well be…

See?

I keep telling you America is better!

Admittedly, you have virgin houses, but they look like shite.

Contrary to popular American beliefs neo- Californian is not a legitimate style of architecture.

I didn’t let not being married stop me from taking an “Are you a Good Wife?” quiz on Facebook, and guess what! Not only am I a good wife, albeit an unmarried one, I’m a magnificent wife! Wait till I tell Hockey - he’ll be so pleased!

Orion, if I have time when I get home (I have to pack for camping tomorrow) I’m going to lay SUCH an American houses smackdown on you.

I love this. Very American.

Who can resist a craftsman bungalow?

Or a sweet little (or larger) Cape Cod-style cottage?

But you, orion, are a fancy fellow, so maybe something more like this?

I have to add my beloved colonial. THEY COME IN EVERY COLOR.

My feelings: I love houses so much. And frankly, aside from the castles found elsewhere which are admittedly impressive and not found here in the states, I would hold American architecture up against anywhere else for charm and beauty.

It’s like the false believe that American food is comprised solely of McDonald’s. Bitches, we got food! And it’s GOOD food. I would post it, but I have to grab a quick a quick run before work.

Maybe just one, since I had a no-show. . .

From Del Friscos, they have several locations but I’ve eaten at the one in Dallas. I did not eat better in Germany or France, though I ate well there, too.

Botched posting, sorry!

I have decided to stop worrying and over thinking things so much.

I thought I’d say so, since it’s a big feelings decision.

Meanwhile, pulling this thread up, I see that orion never came in to admit that he was wrong, wrong, wrong about the houses thing.
