Not to take this off topic, but can someone give me a quick answer as to when one should start using knee sleeves/wraps?? Ive only squatted 405 so far, and i generally don’t have knee discomfort. should i wait?

Knee sleeves like Rehbands and Tommy Kono’s more or less just keep your knees warm. They are wetsuit material and they lend virtually zero support. They are the shit for working out when it’s cold in my garage. I would recommend them to anyone at any time. Take care of your joints, they’re the only ones we have.
Knee wraps can be used by anyone too. There is no magic number you must squat to require them. They simply help add to your lifts like the rest of your gear. ‘carryover’ if you will will depend on what kind you have and how tight they are. I have a set of good ol Inzers. They prolly give me maybe 20# or so if I had to guess. But this is just a guess on my part and I squat wide so the knee wraps really don’t give me a lot of pop. I know guys who squat shoulder width and they say they get ‘quite bit’- their words- out of their wraps. I’ve read about the wraps helping with patellar tracking or some shit but I’m just a meat head so I don’t know alot about all that.
I say get some, they’re cheap and last a long time and it can’t hurt you.

I would save your money and go with the APT sleeves. Better quality, sizing, and pricing.
The Elite sleeves seemed to be sized quite small and though they are somewhat supportive they are not comfortable for longer training sessions. I have a pair of double ply convict knee sleeves from APT and the Elite’s are not even close. The Convicts give more support, warmth, and I can actually wear them for an hour or more without my calves turning purple.
For me sleeves are much more comfortable than wraps, but you definitely do not get the same carryover. Good for lighter training sessions and injury prevention. I also like the Tommy Kono sleeves for tendonitis issues. You can wear them for long periods of time and they provide great warmth with some moderate compression.
To be fair I am pretty sure APT make Elitefts Heavy and Super Heavy sleeves for both elbows and knees. I’m guessing the Super Heavy sleeves are the equivalent of the APT Convict single ply sleeves.
EFS knee sleeves aren’t manufactured by APT.

Ok thanks for that.
I think I might have assumed that because when speaking to “Gym” Wendler when the new range of wrist wraps Elitefts came out. He basically intimated that the normal, heavy and super heavy wrist wraps were the equivalent or same material as the ZRV Pro / Convict / The Wrap 2xh wrist wraps that APT use.
Again both companies are two of the best I have ever dealt with so it seemed like a logical match!
Cheers
I have the Extra Large. I weigh 220 pounds but with small calves and could barely get them on. Tight as a MoFo.
