I ordered a spud deadlifting belt in a large and it was way to big. I have put on 25 pounds since then and it just barely fits now. that’s why i got a medium. My dad is a 28" waist, and he cannot get the elitefts belt on.

I think i am just mainly pissed about the belt. By the time i ship it back to them, and get it back here i would have paid for two. I will just deal with it and grab myself a nice toro belt.
Okay, so you originally bought one brand of belt…A Spud dead lift belt, a large (32-36") and it was too big at first, then you grew out of it by gaining 25 lbs. Then you bought another brand of belt…and went a size down to a medium (25.5-34.5). If you grew out of a belt that at max will contain 36" why would you buy a belt that would only contain 34.5"?
Sometimes sizing is tough with this stuff. Personally, I’d get a bob Morris belt . IMO they’re the best . I don’t like the spud belt.
I use an inzer lever belt mostly. I grew out of my Morris and gave it to my son.

He prefers his elite belt. I don’t like them. This is common in this sport . You have to try something to know whether it works for you.
But even if you try a few belts for a few hundred dollars, you’ll have a good belt for a lifetime.

I never said i grew out of it. Read the sentence dummy. It BARELY fits now after gaining 25 pounds. Plus, i am planning on loosing 15. But even then, there is not a chance this belt will fit.
Okay, still it doesn’t make sense, you barely fit in a belt so you buy a smaller size?
THE BELT WAS TOO BIG TO BEGIN WITH. ITS STILL BIG AFTER GAINING 25 POUNDS. CLEAR ENOUGH?
I’ve ordered nearly every piece of lifting gear (and ALL of my foam rollers) from EliteFTS. Had one mis-shipped item, they replaced at speed and at their cost.

Some of you are ridiculous. First, there is clearly a high percentage of Canadians who’ve ordered from Elite and had problems, so maybe this isn’t an isolated incident.

Second, Dave Tate would “fuck him up” ? Really?

Tate is a businessman and family man with a very public persona (see him on Facebook, for instance). He’s not some “Look at me, I’m alpha, bitches!” e-thug like some of you who circle jerk over hypothetical grudge matches.

If you were to actually talk to him I would be willing to bet that he’d say, “Look, what can I do to make this right for you?” Take care of you, maybe give you a friendly jab for not ordering properly and being from Canada, then invite you to lift with him the next time you’re in Ohio (which is, like, never).

Well, he’d probably do all that HAD YOU NOT BLASTED THE COMPANY ON A PUBLIC FORUM.
Well the first time they fucked up my order I called and they said “that sucks but because of shipping costs there’s not much we can do.” Fortunately they just forgot to put stuff in, still charged me for it but forgot to pack it so they refunded my money. The problem of course being that I can’t just order it again because it costs so damn much so I had to go without.

The next time they shipped the wrong size of something. They told me I could ship it back (at my expense) and they’d ship out the right stuff (also at my expense) so I’d end up paying another $100 to get the stuff they screwed up on. Because they sent me a product they wouldn’t refund my money unless I sent it back so basically my options were to pay another $100 for their screw up or eat the $40 the item cost me and live without it.

how the fuck is that making things right?

Elite only cares about it’s US customers that much is pretty clear. Which probably makes sense from a business standpoint since I’m sure that’s 90%+ of their orders but it sure sucks for the rest of us.

^ Not to be a dick, but does Canada not have powerlifting sites, shops etc.? I know you have snow and beer but why no powerlifting?

Sounds like a business opportunity.

Well I think I might be the Canadian with the biggest order history with Elite, so here’s my take.
I just opened a gym a few weeks ago in London Ontario (www.powerhousetraining.ca) with everything in my gym aside from the dumbbells coming from Elite as well as making probably 5 or 6 small orders over the past couple years and I’m completely happy I decided to.

On the small orders, the shipping and brokerage sucks to pay but that seems to be part of being Canadian so either accept that part of it or order from Canada. I’ve gotten tons of small stuff like bands, blast straps etc. in these orders because I wait for their sales on them and then when the extra costs get added on, it’s closer to evening out to regular price (and still way cheaper than most places in Canada). Although I too would way rather if they shipped USPS or Fed Ex because UPS is terrible, it says right on their website that they only ship UPS so that’s not a hidden fact.

As far as my big order goes, I wanted to set my gym apart from anything else in the area and get the best equipment, and to me, Elite was really the only option. Even if I got the racks and stuff from somewhere else, I would have been going to Elite for all the specialty bars, Prowlers etc. anyways so it made sense to me to get it all in on place.

After using the equipment the last few weeks, I can honestly say that I’ve never seen or used any gym equipment that even compares to the stuff at Elite and couldn’t be happier that I went with them. Although there were a few minor problems like a couple items missing and it took a few weeks longer than I was hoping for (although that was the manufacturer William Strength that caused the delay plus it was over Christmas so I should have seen it coming).

The missing items were more UPS’s fault because there were some boxes that got wet and had holes in them so I’m sure the stuff just fell out, but all of that stuff is being replaced when they send a sales rep up within the next couple of weeks.

The shipping and brokerage was quite a bit, but I knew that ahead of time and was just something I accepted. The way I look at it is that I now have the most badass gym around (in Canada?) and I got it all, including shipping and brokerage for less than the cost of just the franchise fees for a couple of the sport specific gyms in Ontario that I looked into.

SUMMARY:
-I now own a sick gym in Canada that was completely outfitted by Elite
-dealing with the border charges and shipping and all that shit sucks. Deal with it or don’t order from the US.
-I’m 100% happy with my decision to order from Elite
-I may have set a record for the longest first post ever

^ Not the longest, good luck man, sounds like Canada needed you.

@ Stevo23… I live about an hour from London in Chatham-kent. That’s sweet that your gym is basically fully equipped with EliteFTS. I have purchased several items from them as well and have found a couple loopholes to get things into Canada cheaper.

Since I live about 15 minutes from the ferry…to avoid brokerage fees and costly shipping charges, you can order packages under 75lbs to the bluewater ferry, pay $5 bucks when you pick it up and avoid all the brokerage fees and get way cheaper shipping b/c it is sent to the ferry’s US address (its a huge saver for canadians)!

I’ll go pick up my eliteFTS packages with my girfriendf and/or kids depending on the size of teh order, so basically each person can bring back a hundred bucks worth and you never pay any duty/taxes. I have done that for an econo prowler, t-shirts (note to original poster: the quality is fine, yeah there iron pressed but there like 10 bucks so) fat grips, a Texas power bar and blast straps. Doing this has made it so much easier for me to afford everything.

Lastly, to save money on my latest purchase, a build your own 3x3 power rack. I had it shipped to the bluewater shipping depot. They are a place for Canadians to ship packagages to that need an American address, and to save on huge shipping/brogerages fees on item into Canada.

I got mine sent there and saved a significant amount of money, by just picking it up myself in a truck. BTW… doesn’t hurt to doctor up the invoice either to lower the tax you pay on more expensive items liek a power rack when you bring it back as well

Called them today finally. They cant really do anything about it other then an exchange or a refund. So i am loosing out on a few bucks. Being in Canada, its not like i am loosing 5 bucks btw… More like 30 on the shipping it back there, plus more taxes and broker fees getting it back.

The girl i spoke with was very nice about it all though, and was sorry she couldnt do any more for me.

I would still like to oreder from them if it didnt cost so much to get it here. I know there stuff is a good deal (t-shirts and stuff), but by the time it gets here it really isnt worth it. Fuckin Canada…!

Sounds like a sweet gym in London Ontario though! Gotta check that out one time! I am just north of Toronto.

Btw, know of any actual stores in the area where i could look at belts before i buy? That would be nice. Otherwise the next one i get will just be a size bigger lol

No more harsh feelings towards Elitefts lol.

If you want a belt, try Titan in QC. Th dealer is the QPF president, he’ll help you out with sizing.
http://www.titan-canada.ca/

If you have a look a the CPU forums, there is a buy/sell section that could be helpful. A lot of those guys sell new equipment as well as used.
