Electoral Politics: A Losing Game

No, I mean work ethic, not entitlement expectation.

Rumor in this part of the country is that Rick Scott stole “skin in the game” from me. And I get blamed for being his speech writer. Go figure. I don’t even know him.

It has the same effect as printing money. I think we all now everything is digital now.

Yes, you always have a choice. Work more hours, learn a skill on your free time. Better yourself - anything else is an excuse.

I worked 40+ hours while also going to school my entire school career through 2 undergrads and a law degree while also starting my own businesses.

You either want it or you don’t. Anything else is just an excuse and pure laziness.

The general public consists of mostly inane morons. Look no further than warning labels now. You don’t want them making decisions I can assure you.

@castoli Still haven’t seen your solution.

Mental illness? Some mental illness can be hard to understand for many I think. I don’t necessarily think someone with something like depression is inherently lazy because they are currently lazy if that makes sense?

It is on them to address these things, but that can be a slow process (at least in the US).

True disabilities or mental illness doesn’t factor in to my equation. Those are immediately excused.

Ayn Rand saw this clearly in the 1950’s. The world if filled with

  • Looters
  • Moochers
  • Producers
  1. The Looters have become more effective
  2. Hence the percentage of Moochers have greatly increased
  3. And there are a smaller percentage of Producers to allow the first two operate effectively.

Believe it or not, that was required reading in my 11th grade English class, and in a public school!!! Who would ever think that had ever happened, if all you know is the last half decade.

And it is only getting worse.

I do wonder though, what percentage of people that are struggling at the bottom of the economic system are either not cut out for a high end job (low intelligence perhaps), have a mental disorder that is diagnosed, or do in fact have a mental disorder but it hasn’t been diagnosed. I think it would be difficult to say the least to get diagnosed by a shrink if you were already poor. Costs a lot, lots of hoops to jump through…

I just don’t think to many people choose to be lazy. Perhaps they want to work hard, but can’t bring themselves to do it (difficult to understand, but I think it is a thing that happens).

I think it happens, but it isn’t the majority.

There are literally tons of just lazy people out there. I see it constantly.

“I just wanted a job where I could stand at the register all day.” (AKA play on my phone 90% of the day)

“I actually have to move around and help customers?”

“I am too tired to come in on time today. I didn’t sleep well.”

These are actual excuses I have heard - just a few. Across my businesses, I have roughly 157 employees.

I would say 50% of them are solid and show up and do a superb job always. The other 50% are a lazy pool of revolving doors. And I pay at least 25-30% more than anyone else in the areas for similar or identical work. And I pay 100% of medical insurance as incentive.

Rand was a phony and an ideologue. Where do working folks fit in those categories? The cops, firemen, soldiers, teachers, doctors, garbage men, plumbers, etc? How about producers who are funding politicians in order to game the system in their favor? Are they not moochers or looters? The Iraq war was an example of producers looting tax payers of their money, and in some cases, their lives.

Then I ask you, How many children did Adam and Eve have, according to the Bible? Please think logically.

Ayn Rand focused on the three groups whose actions are interdependent. Sure there are workers. It is a similar thought as who were Cain and Seth wives. They just are willing workers. Some could advance to become Producers. Some could quit and become Moochers.

BTW, Adam and Eve had at least 5 children, probably many more.

Given that God needed to put a mark on Cain in order to keep him from being killed by whomever he might come across as he wandered the Earth, Adam and Eve must have had a lot more than five kids. Unless there were people who were not descended from them. Maybe God made more people.

Neanderthals from Nod?

Maybe this is not a full solution but, quit donating to them and quit voting for them. It’s a start in the right direction. So what is your solution. Are you satisfied with the way things are going?

You must mean all the corporate welfare.

Ayn Rand was a miserable human being.

Please allow me to add a little more information to lessen the speculation (providing you believe the Bible.)

Gen 6:1, “And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them.” Men began to multiply starting with Adam. “Multiply” could indicate a rapid production of children. Plus, here are the women not previously mentioned.

Gen 5:3, “And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Seth.” Isn’t that interesting? For 130 years after the creation of Adam and the woman, what were they doing all that time? You don’t think Adam ever had “wood” first thing in the morning. There is going to be some fooling around. They could easily have had 100 children before Seth was born, and plenty of them women. And how many of those children had children?

There is absolutely need for Neanderthals or Cro-Magnon women. By comparison to the Adams’ daughters, they were dog ugly. BTW, those were gone before Adam was created. But that’s another story.

But Seth was born after Cain killed Abel. So when Cain was worrying about someone killing him, who could that have been since there were only four, actually three, people in existence?

Not according to Genesis 4:25.

Yet their DNA is still with us.

You have no scriptural basis to determined how many people were in existence when Cain killed Abel. Probably they were fairly up in years by our standards, maybe above 100 years old. Your Gen 4:25 will help to get an idea when Cain could have killed Abel. (plenty of children being made by Adam and Eve before and after.)

You lean on Gen 4:25, “And Adam knew his wife again: and she bare a son, and called his name Seth: For God, said she, hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew.”

“Seed” is very important. This is the seed promised the woman in Gen 3:15, “And I will put enmity between thee (God talking to the serpent) and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed: it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.” This is the promise that a line from the woman to Jesus, who will conquer Satan.

The appointed seed is in God’s time, not man’s. Eve knew in Gen 4:25 that God had replaced the promised seed that Satan thought he had killed when he, through Cain, slew Abel. And Abel was that promised replacement.

Adam and Eve had many children since Cain and Abel, but only Seth was the appointed seed. The word “appointed” is critical, if you are a Christian, or Jew for that matter. If not it is just gibberish.

I’m pretty satisfied as things are. I think term limits would be good and maybe a restriction on being able to work for any corporation/person that donated to them.

You miss the point. For Cain to worry about being killed by whomever he might encounter, there had to be other people in existence. Who were these people? You have no evidence they were his own family. Adam was the first man God created, but was he the only man God created? Is scripture at times an allegory, as early Christians like Origen and St. Augustine suggested, and Adam is not a single man but a metaphor for all of mankind? Or are we supposed to debate questions that have not been answered definitively, one way or another, for 2,000 years, as if we know any better than Doctors of the Church?
