Since the currency has no intrinsic value. Value must be created so the dollar is in demand for a tax liability and that creates value. It is the only thing accepted for taxes.

I work for a DoD contractor. It is the essence inefficiency.
Per certain contracts, contractors are required to rebid certain parts out every year or two. One time all of a sudden a part that was working fine starting malfunctioning regularly. This wasnāt a complicated part. As I investigated what happened, turns out the supplier was changed to save 5 cents per part. There are 2 on each end product that is built at a rate of about 15 per year. Then they paid me 2 days worth of engineering salary to troubleshoot the issue. In the end spending more money.
You know that line in Independence Day when the guy goes āYou donāt think they spend $10,000 on a toilet seat do you?āā¦if the public only knewā¦

Iāve seen an invoice with a $50 1/4 inch Nylon washer. One washer.
A quick google search can find them at $4.12 for a pack of 100.
