Coach, you mentioned effort based training is best done with a greater emphasis on machines, pulleys, and single-joint exercises. I have a home gym with free weights and a unilateral hi/low cable. My compound exercises mainly need to be done with free weights. Is there a way of modifying aspects of the effort based training to make a set-up like mine feasible or would it be more advisable that I pick a different training modality? Thanks, this series of articles was some of the most insightful Iāve ever read!
It is an awesome way to train, especially for those of us who were heavily influenced by Mentzer, Yates, and McRobert.
I just started using this method as part of my autumn phase in Seasonal Training. What are some recommended exercises for effort based training?
Leg press, machine rows, Hammer Strength or any other machine chest press, preacher curls, machine dips, etcā¦. You get the picture. Mostly machines, some dumbbells and very few barbell exercises.
