Has anyone ever had any experiences with weight gain on Effexor or any other SSRI?
Apparently these drugs can cause a carb/sweet craving, perhaps due to the direct action they have on brain chemistry.
I didn’t eat any more than normal and turned into a blimp incredibly quickly. Effexor’s side effects outweigh any benefits.
I actually went the other way and lost weight on Effexor - they made me nauseous from about 2pm onwards and I just couldn’t eat. There seems to be very different accounts of its effect of weight gain/ loss from what I’ve read about it.

Thats the oddest thing, that some people gain weight and have odd food cravings, while others swear they actually loose.
