Let’s take a real life example. Kansas a mostly red state had the abortion issue on the ballot. The people struck this d-bag Republican law down. Now the d-bag GOP is starting to 2nd guess their idiotic policy, at least in regards to abortion. Now they are suing the Biden Admin. for his paltry student loan debt forgiveness. Anything that may financially help the public, they are against. True assholes!
The thing that is really killing people, economically speaking, is neo-classical economics. With there decades long failed prediction of the U.S. imploding under debt. But you still believe it and champion it, like it’s the 2nd coming. Ater 4 decades of wrong predictions you’d think they’d go back to the drawing board. This works in a constitutional republic not in what you describe as a pure democracy. You end up with majority rule no matter how stupid the potential policy. When the majority of the people are dumb as fuck- that’s how the country ends up.
