Ever hear the phrase “you can lead a horse to water…”?
In this scenario, you’re the horse who would refuse to drink the water even if waterboarded.
As enjoyable as that sounds, i frankly don’t have faith in you ever coming to reason. Remember that thread you were all over saying “automatic guns should be banned; lets ban the AR-15”? After being proven wrong (and gullible/stupid) you just stopped responding like a good little rube.
Your cognitive dissonance is so frighteningly systemic that, frankly, I lack the skills to effectively deprogram you from the cult of idiocy you belong to.
Does anyone have a metric with a little more precision?
Where is the male counted who has health insurance, but refuses to see a doctor when he has chest pain and dies of heart failure a year or two later? He experienced a lack of healthcare.
No, because the illegitimate liberal cucks that wrote the Vice article he’s referring to gave no further metrics than “xxx people died because they lacked healthcare”.
I was thinking the same thing about various members on this forum, including you! Too indoctrinated by propaganda, you refuse to question your beliefs despite the overwhelming evidence to the contrary. You are stuck!
Have no idea what you are talking about here. Weapons that can kill many people in a very short amount of time ought to be banned. The U.S. has more guns than people but no one has the mass killings we do. Why?
And why would that be the case? Because people aren’t worried about Venezuela orchestrating a coup against the U.S. But not so the other way. Much safer to be in a country like the U.S. who throws their weight around, all over the world. Kills many citizens of other countries, frequently. But the U.S. calls other folks terrorists. Fuck me.
Ahhh…no I didn’t get that from a Vice article. This stat has been all over the place but you wouldn’t know it cause Fox(your personal bible.)doesn’t tell you.
This is what I’m talking about. Ive mentioned repeatedly that I dont watch Fox, but you’re either too blind, dumb, or incompetent to have grasped that.
Do tell
For everyone but big daddy government, right? I hope you enjoy sitting by with no power to do anything but complain as the Fed comes in and fucks your wife. This is where being a liberal cuck starts playing to your benefit… at least you’re used to it.
No. Not just single-payer. It was an obvious and glaring choice. And yes, we can expect fewer deaths. Just like those in other countries who have single-payer. People do not die from lack of health coverage nor does being diagnosed with a disease send them into bankruptcy. Another delightful aspect of the for profit U.S. healthcare system.
Is big daddy government walking into schools and slaughtering children? Are they mass murdering civilians in this country. I know they do this routinely overseas but I’m talking in our country.
I’m sure you’re part of the family that denies single-payer health insurance is superior than the garbage in this country despite the real world evidence to the contrary. But maybe I’m wrong.
Good for you. Where do you get your news/information from? If you told me then I’d forgotten.
Not yet. I urge you to look into Tienanmen Square to see what happens when you don’t have an armed populace though.
You answered your own question here.
I’m no expert on healthcare laws (who really is?) but the US has the most advanced medical systems in the world. When my wife (31 yr/old, non-obese and otherwise healthy) needed emergency brain surgery - she was rushed to the front of the line and taken in as a patient of the Head of Neurosurgery at Cedars-Sinai Beverly Hills (one of the top medical centers in the world). Had this been something similar to the UK’s healthcare systems, I can’t say she would have 1) gotten the need for surgery identified or 2) received the level of care and attention her situation needed. Do we owe >10k in medical bills? Yeah. Would I rather it have been free for worse care? No.
I don’t know if I’ll find a compelling argument to convince me otherwise.
Typically, I ignore the news. I listen to podcasts, and if world events are important enough to trickle down into a podcast and I find it interesting - I will research it from a variety of sources and try to discern the truth of it. Rarely do I find a need to do this though, I don’t hold radical beliefs and I’ve always been willing to reassess these beliefs under new evidence.
I’d list a source or two, but I don’t have typical news sites I read from as they all put their own spin on it. Would be willing to pay attention to a singular unopinionated news source if one such place existed.
Usually with financial considerations dominating the spin.
People often say more guns is the answer but if we already have more guns than people and have mass killings, like no other country, how can more guns be an answer?
It(“healthcare”)costs about twice as much here than in any other country and often with worse results. Maybe what happened with your wife is an anomaly. The tens of thousands who die every year from lack of healthcare may feel differently about it than you.
The U.S. has been ranked 37th in the world as far as healthcare is considered. if we pay about twice as much shouldn’t we be rated number 1?
In a study by the Kaiser Foundation, the U.S. ranked dead last in a study including the top 11 industrialized countries. The U.K. came in first and it has a much more socialized system than single-payer.
Nah. I was in the midst of a fatal heart attack when I woke up on the night of June 19, 2019. Within minutes EMT’s were at my door and getting me prepped. On the drive to a state of the art cardiac cath lab the hospital was recieving data directly from the monitor. Upon arrival they already knew exactly who and what they were treating. I was fully prepped and rushed into the cath lab within minutes, where I recieved life saving heart surgery, during which I flatlined 3 times, but was brought back.
Our standard of care in the US is second to none.
Another friend of mine took a 50 foot fall at a job site, etc. I could go on, but its really not necessary.
But my buddy that took the fall? Freakin miraculous. Skull shattered, ribcage broken from his spine, pelvis femurs, everything- totaled, in a deep coma.
I go to see him and pay my last respect. Prayers and tears all around and the only thing left to do was make arrangements.
4 months later, he calls me to return the last call I had placed to his phone.
Shortly after that he was back to owning/operating his company.
